Pokémon Go confirms when Gigantamax will be added

As a long-time Pokemon enthusiast who grew up with the classic Kanto trio of Venusaur, Blastoise, and Charizard, I am absolutely thrilled about the upcoming Gigantamax release date on October 26th, 2024! Remembering the excitement of catching my first Bulbasaur back in the day, this announcement has brought a wave of nostalgia mixed with anticipation.

As a dedicated cinema of Pokémon enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that the visionary minds behind Niantic’s Pokémon Go have dropped us a hint about the arrival of the colossal Gigantamax feature in our beloved mobile game.

In the Pokémon Sword and Shield games, inspired by Britain, which were released in 2019, there’s a mid-battle transformation called Gigantamax. This transformation makes some Pokémon grow to an immense size.

One advantage of using Gigantamax is that it grants your enlarged Pokemon access to potent G-Max Moves, giving you a clear edge over your competitors in Pokemon Go!

In my experience, Gigantamax isn’t the same as Dynamax; Dynamax is a transformation that occurs during battle, which we got in Pokémon Go way back in September. It may not be as spectacular as Gigantamax, but it’s still pretty cool!

Introducing Dynamax to Pokémon Go also introduced new spots known as Power Sites, along with a fresh category of items to gather – Max Particles.

These newly integrated features will prove beneficial for Gigantamax, as confirmed by Niantic. They’ve indicated that Gigantamax operates much like Dynamax within the game. Excitingly, we won’t have to wait long!

Niantic has officially announced that the global launch of Gigantamax in Pokémon Go is set for Saturday, 26th October 2024.

We’ve been told through official channels that Venusaur, Blastoise and Charizard will be the first Gigantamax Pokémon in the game.

The Kanto icons will become accessible starting at 10 am on the 26th of October. However, you’ll need to move quickly as they’ll only be available until 8 pm on the 27th of October.

During specific Raid Battles, you’ll find yourself going up against Gigantamax Pokémon. It’s been mentioned that as many as 40 players can join forces simultaneously, but it’s also suggested that teams of 10 players should have a fairly good chance at success!

There seems to be an issue with the quiz, please try again.

If you manage to overcome a Gigantamax Pokemon, there’s a possibility for you to capture it, and what’s more, they’ll possess a special G-Max move!

For the grand unveiling, Niantic shared a unique promotional video, featuring a grandiose soundtrack by film composer Ramin Djawadi, who’s famed for his work on Game of Thrones.

Check it out below while you wait for the Gigantamax release date on 26th October 2024.
