She mentioned during a recent Instagram Live that she’s likely nearing the end of her modeling work. She’s actively seeking employment within her academic field, however, until then, she wants to make the most of this time by doing her best. (Per TMZ)
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’ve always encouraged positivity and resilience among my followers. However, I must admit, it can be quite challenging stepping into someone else’s shoes – in this case, my mother’s. Despite my efforts not to appear “whiny,” I find myself expressing frustration at times as I navigate this new role.
Aoki went on to say, ‘It feels like everything’s a constant evaluation, as if I’m constantly being measured against someone else.’ I understand the idea that I’m not as good, and of course my mother is a more skilled model. But it gets frustrating when this comparison is always there.
Aoki pointed out that her mother, who got into modeling at a young age and graced the covers of magazines like Vogue and Elle, also walked in fashion shows for designers such as Valentino and Fendi, has managed to obtain job opportunities that she herself hasn’t been able to secure yet.
Aoki mentioned that he plans to rejoin the public sector, given his educational background. However, while he’s still here, he will put forth his utmost effort.
The Harvard University alum explained she had given the issue a lot of thought—saying she was a “good” model and was not in need of coaching, but that the industry in general was just tough.
Aoki mentioned that she’s taking the foreign service test because she wants to re-enter the field of international relations, which aligns with her academic background. She shared some words of wisdom from her mother: “End well, and always respect your chosen profession.” So, she plans to give it her all and wrap things up impressively in her career.

Meanwhile, Aoki ponders over the highs and lows of her modeling journey, her mother, who is a mom to Kenzo (15), born with Djimon Hounsou, Gary (14), and Wolfe (9) from different relationships, has earlier expressed pride for her achievements on social media platforms, demonstrating that she’s consistently scaled new heights in the industry.
