T.J. Holmes suffered a setback while running the Chicago Marathon.
I, unfortunately, couldn’t complete the October 13th race, and I had to share some images of myself from inside an ambulance instead.
In one of his posts, the co-host of the Amy & T.J podcast captioned pictures showing him on a stretcher, saying “This is what occurred.” He had been keeping followers updated about his progress during the race on Instagram Story, and the last photo showed he reached the 15-mile point in the 26.2-mile marathon. In reality, Robach, aged 51, disclosed the cause of Holmes’ premature exit from the race. He was significantly ahead when an injury occurred around mile 21, as she captioned a picture taken inside the ambulance with Holmes, “The Achilles snapped at mile 21.
Earlier, Holmes had shared that he was dealing with certain health issues during his marathon training.
On their September 30th podcast, he mentioned about the Chicago Marathon: ‘Either me or my girlfriend Amy Robach might not complete it.’ This morning, almost in tears, he managed just 1.6 miles out of an intended 8-mile run.
Robach further noted at the time that Holmes had been struggling with pain in his Achilles tendon.
She mentioned that Holmes has been extremely diligent in managing his injury, always taking the necessary steps whether it’s applying ice or heat, visiting a podiatrist for laser therapy, and even trying various medications like Aleve and Advil. Unfortunately, despite all these efforts, his condition hasn’t shown any improvement.
In September, Holmes disclosed that he had been experiencing pain for about two months, specifically referring to it as “swelling at the back of my heel.
I’m absolutely thrilled about what Robach disclosed – Holmes is wrestling with the dilemma of participating in the race! It’s evident he’s concerned about potentially injuring his Achilles tendon, as he doesn’t want to risk such an injury, given the obvious consequences.

Following her arrival at the ABC morning show in 2012, Amy Robach assumed hosting duties for the time slot following Good Morning America after the Pandemic: What You Need to Know series was rebranded as GMA3: What You Need to Know.

Robach remarked to her coworker, who crossed the finish line before her, “You seemed to have enjoyed it as well!” The joy radiating from your face was obvious. Just a quick note: TJ managed to outpace me in this race.

“We were running together,” he said. “And I ended up a second ahead, officially.”
On this occasion, neither Watson nor Shue joined Holmes and Robach as they participated in the New York City Marathon jointly. Instead, there was no sign of Watson or Shue.

Following the publicity surrounding rumors of their affair, the anchors on GMA3 temporarily disabled their individual Instagram profiles. Shue further deleted all pictures of Robach from his personal Instagram account.

Holmes filed for divorce from Fiebig after nearly 13 years of marriage.
As a devoted parent to our 10-year-old daughter Sabine, I had been privately going through the process of separation with my partner, as per my own disclosure. Initially, I chose not to announce my new relationship with Robach publicly, as I was still trying to navigate the complexities of my family dynamics following our split.
In the first episode of the Amy & T.J. podcast, Holmes clarified that his daughter, who is 10 years old, was having a hard time adjusting to their parents no longer being together. He was helping her cope with this new reality.
Later, Holmes admitted that he had not yet informed his mother about his separation from Fiebig, a fact that became public knowledge only after his relationship with Robach was exposed.
