As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I must say that the latest addition to the Ys series, Ys 10: Nordics, has piqued my interest like no other. Having delved into the world of Adol and Dogi countless times before, I find myself eagerly anticipating this new adventure set between Ys 2: Ancient Ys Vanished and Ys 3: Memories of Celceta.
The reviews for Falcom’s “Ys 10: Nordics” are out now, just before its Western release next week. But if you can’t wait that long, you have the chance to try the game yourself, as a free demo is accessible right now on PS4, PS5, and PC.
Check out the announcement trailer highlighting the sequel’s new gameplay mechanics. The free demo consists of the Prologue up to a portion of Chapter 3. Players can transfer save data from the demo to the game and continue progressing. Achievements and DLC from the title are not supported in the demo.
The game titled “Ys 10: Nordics” is set to be released on October 25th in the Western regions. This game takes place chronologically between “Ys 2: Ancient Ys Vanished” and “Ys 3: Memories of Celceta,” and follows a younger Adol who finds himself in Obelia Bay, under the control of the Balta Seaforce.
Under some enigmatic events, he winds up shackled with Karja Balta, engaging in battles against eternally living creatures called Griegrs. Given their situation, Adol and Karja are able to coordinate assaults, leveraging Mana for blazing and freezing attacks.
