T.I. Announces Retirement From Performing

As a die-hard fan who’s been on this T.I. journey since the days of “U Don’t Know Me,” it’s bittersweet to hear about his impending retirement from touring. It feels like saying goodbye to an old friend, one who’s soundtracked some of the best and worst times in my life. But hey, at 44, it’s his right to decide when to hang up those microphone boots!

T.I. is gonna do whatever he likes.

For the artist known as “Live Your Life”, this signifies ending his touring days. T.I. announced that his last show will be at the 96.1 The Beat’s Jingle Ball concert in Atlanta on December 19, and after that, he plans to retire from touring.

During a recent radio interview on October 10th, T.I. expressed his gratitude for being offered his last job opportunity, as he no longer requires financial assistance and will not be taking on any more performances. In simpler terms, he stated that he no longer wishes to continue with the work.

The 44-year-old stated, “I no longer wish to be compensated for jumping around and working up a sweat as entertainment for others.

When host Ferrari Simmons inquired about his future intentions regarding the PSC, or Pimp Squad Click – a hip-hop group co-founded by T.I. in 2001 with Big Kuntry King, Young Dro, Mac Boney, C-Rod, and AK – the “Whatever You Like” rapper indicated he had some plans up his sleeve.

Indeed,” he replied, “I’ll take the call to let them know I won’t be able to put on the show.

Fortunately, Young Dro (who participated in the interview alongside his long-term partner) indicated his readiness to fulfill T.I.’s performance obligations, playfully adding, “I’ll be handling all the shows that Tip won’t be able to attend. I’ll do them all.

Less than a month following the $71 million award granted to T.I. and his wife, Tiny, in their trial against toy manufacturer MGA Entertainment, T.I. announced his retirement from live performances.

The musical duo T.I. and Tiny (whose real names are Clifford Joseph Harris and Tameka Dianne Cottle-Harris) alleged that a toy company infringed upon the intellectual property of their music group, the OMG Girlz, with their L.O.L. Surprise! O.M.G. dolls.

After the jury’s verdict, Tiny, who is the mother of children Clifford (18), Major (16), and Heiress (8) together with the rapper, expressed her immense joy about the decision.

In simpler terms, a 49-year-old shared with Rolling Stone that they were amazed by what was accomplished, exceeding their expectations. Initially, they would have been content with anything. However, they surpassed those expectations, giving us more than we could have asked for. We really wanted to express our gratitude towards the jurors, but unfortunately, we didn’t get the chance to do so.

T.I., in his words, stated, “Justice was carried out. This underscores the tenacity and resilience of my wife, daughter, and nieces. We’re simply grateful that we emerged victorious and were able to stand up for creators everywhere, protecting our intellectual property from being treated as a public resource by big corporations.
