In his preparations for portraying a young Leroy Jethro Gibbs in the prequel series NCIS: Origins, the actor has chosen to focus on nurturing professional relationships over romantic ones. Austin shared with People magazine in an October 14th interview, “I’m involved in a special bond with a TV show. From Monday to Friday, it’s like we’re dating. The cast and crew of the 300 people I mentioned earlier? They are essentially all my romantic partners.
Although he’s currently single, having parted ways with Nina Dobrev (formerly of Degrassi) in February 2016, he emphasized that kindness will be essential when he starts seeking a partner once more.

Currently, the “Friend of the Family” alum isn’t involved romantically, but he’s building a solid professional bond with Mark Harmon on the new NCIS prequel series.
