Children in Need announces 2024 presenters – Doctor Who star returns

As a long-time supporter of charitable causes and a devoted fan of British television, I couldn’t be more thrilled about this year’s lineup for BBC Children in Need! Having grown up watching Doctor Who, it’s heartening to see Lenny Rush, who played Morris Gibbons, joining the team.

As a passionate movie reviewer, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news! The star-studded roster for the 2024 BBC Children in Need event is finally here, and guess who’s making a comeback? None other than a beloved character from Doctor Who! Get ready for an unforgettable night of entertainment.

The team will be spearheaded by Vernon Kay and Rochelle Humes; notably, Vernon Kay accomplished an astounding feat last year by raising over £6 million through his grueling ultra-marathon journey of 115 miles from Leicester to Bolton.

This year, Lenny Rush, who excitedly announced his return after making his Children in Need debut last year and recently appearing as UNIT asset Morris Gibbons on Doctor Who (his first time), will also be part of the event.

Rush expressed his gratitude: “What a privilege it is to contribute to this unique project, which generously supports underprivileged children and youth in the United Kingdom.

The trio will receive assistance from previous hosts Chris Ramsey, Ade Adepitan, and Mel Giedroyc, who have all successfully led charity broadcasts in the past.

This year’s show promises a blend of “spectacular celebrity skits, outstanding musical performances, jaw-dropping acts, and unexpected moments with some of Britain’s favorite stars,” according to the BBC.

The funds raised will go to a variety of causes, including “family centres, community spaces, youth clubs and refuges; homeless shelters, hospices and helplines”.

Children in Need returns to BBC One at 7pm on Friday 15th November 2024.

Kay shared that it’s a genuine privilege to serve as a presenter for BBC Children in Need this year, given the remarkable charity they support.

I’m delighted to be connecting with you from the comfortable setting of MediaCity, as opposed to the grueling run from Leicester to Bolton last year, which was one of the most challenging experiences I’ve had!

I’m thrilled to be associated with Children in Need this year. This extraordinary charity transforms lives in truly remarkable ways, and I feel nothing but pride being a part of their grand event!

Humes, who was a part of the team for Children in Need 2019 and presented it with others, expressed: “There’s no other event that unites the UK as much as BBC Children in Need, and I’m thrilled to be part of it once again this year, right here in the studio.

I’m consistently amazed by the kindness and vibe of the evening, and since it’s such a meaningful event, it resonates deeply with me. I have no doubt that there will be plenty of laughter, tears, unexpected moments, and a wealth of inspiration to go around for everyone attending.

Ade Adepitan said: “I am beyond excited to be back as a presenter for BBC Children in Need.

“It’s such an important cause to raise money for children and young people across the UK that need support. This live show will be brighter and more dazzling than ever before so make sure to tune in for an unforgettable night!”

Chris Ramsay mentioned: “I’m genuinely humbled (and consistently amazed too!) to be asked again for presenting BBC Children in Need. This is an extraordinary charity, and it’s a massive TV spectacle that seems to become even more significant each year.

As a moviegoer and supporter, being an integral part of this endeavor feels incredibly humbling. It’s heartwarming to witness the tangible impact we make, knowing that the resources we gather go straight to helping those in dire need. In these challenging times, the significance of our collective support cannot be overstated; it’s a necessity more than ever before.

Children in Need returns to BBC One and iPlayer at 7pm on Friday 15th November 2024.
