As a lifelong cinephile who’s grown up with Neill Blomkamp’s unique blend of sci-fi and action, I’ve been eagerly anticipating Off The Grid for what feels like an eternity. The idea of his gritty, cyberpunk aesthetic coming to life in a Battle Royale shooter has me positively giddy with excitement. However, the question of crossplay has been lingering in the back of my mind ever since the game’s announcement.
His films about aliens, augmented humans, and robots – and their gritty cyberpunk aesthetic – are a perfect match for a multiplayer Battle Royale shooter like this.
We’ve been waiting for Off The Grid for two years, and it’s awesome that the game is almost here.
In a manner typical of a Blomkamp concept, translated to the gaming world, it presents an image of advanced combat, cutting-edge weaponry, and a wicked humor that binds everything cohesively.
Once it arrives, though, will crossplay be available?
On Fortnite, for example, gamers on PlayStation can play with those on Xbox and PC.
Will this be the case for Off The Grid, or will we be secluded to those on our own platform?

Is Off The Grid crossplay? Multiplayer between platforms explained
As I type this, it appears that Off The Grid does not support cross-platform play at the moment. It’s a bit disappointing since the game is accessible on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, and having crossplay would have turned it into quite an exciting online gathering.
I’m confident that this will be an incredible experience, though it might mean not fighting side by side with some of my comrades.
Changes can certainly happen in the future. In fact, it’s quite common for games to add crossplay functionality later down the line, even if it wasn’t available at their initial release.
