Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 PC system requirements — is your setup ready?

As someone who’s been around the gaming block a few times, let me tell you about my take on Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. I’ve seen many games come and go, but this one seems to be quite the talk of the town.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is so close you can taste it, but can your PC actually run this year’s hotly anticipated blockbuster first-person shooter from Treyarch Studios and Raven Software? What about your favorite handheld?

If you’ve recently enjoyed playing Modern Warfare 2 (2022), Modern Warfare 3 (2023), or Warzone 2.0 on a PC, then you’re probably all set and prepared for Black Ops 6, as it will be released using the same engine and with similar PC specifications in the Call of Duty HQ. If, however, you haven’t played those games yet, it might be wise to check your system to make sure you’re fully equipped when Black Ops 6 launches on October 25th.

In terms of competitive first-person shooter games, many gamers prefer console or powerful PC setups. However, some players opt for portable devices to engage in combat. While you might own the top-tier portable gaming device, not all games are compatible with handhelds.

Can Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 run on the Steam Deck?

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 isn’t officially supported on Steam Deck at this time, and given that modern Call of Duty games don’t run on Linux due to issues with the Ricochet anti-cheat system, it seems unlikely that it will be compatible with the Steam Deck in the future. Attempting workarounds may result in bans, so it’s best to avoid trying them out.

As someone who’s here to share some exciting info, I can tell you that if you’re lucky enough to own a Steam Deck, you’ll be able to enjoy Black Ops 6 right from the get-go! At launch, NVIDIA GeForce Now and Xbox Game Pass will offer the game for streaming in the cloud. Remarkably, you can access these services on your Steam Deck through their web-based clients.

Can Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 run on the ASUS ROG Ally?

Modern Warfare 3, which requires the same PC specs and will be included in the shared CoD HQ launcher. However, some players have experienced stuttering and overheating issues with the game launcher via PC Game Pass, but the Steam edition appears to run without these problems. A workaround for the PC Game Pass issue is to play the game in Performance mode at a limited frame rate.

With the arrival of Black Ops 6, there’s no indication that this issue will persist, since the Call of Duty HQ launcher is currently undergoing substantial enhancements prior to the game’s release. During a recent conversation with Treyarch Studios at Call of Duty: NEXT, team leaders characterized the progress of the COD HQ launcher as “a trip towards our desired destination.

You can now pre-purchase “Call of Duty: Black Ops VI” for $69.99 on Xbox, PlayStation, Steam, Battle.net, and the Microsoft Store. The game is set to be released on October 25, 2024.
