According to a representative from Bodnia, Kim won’t reprise his role as Vesemir because his filming commitments didn’t align with Netflix’s production timeline for The Witcher season 4.
To clarify, the issue at hand centers around the production of the Apple TV+ original movie titled F1. This film is helmed by director Joseph Kosinski, known for Top Gun: Maverick, and features Brad Pitt in the lead role as a retired racer who decides to compete again against the giants of the sport.
Actress Sandra Oh’s “Killing Eve” co-star, Bodnia, will take on the role of a character named Kaspar. This notable cast also features Kerry Condon (“The Banshees of Inisherin”), Javier Bardem (“Monsters”), Tobias Menzies (“The Crown”), and Sarah Niles (“Ted Lasso”).
In my excitement as a fan, I must share that the initial plans for F1 and The Witcher season 4 had separate start dates. However, the unexpected disruptions caused by the Writers Guild of America and Screen Actors Guild strikes in 2023 significantly altered those schedules, leading to some unanticipated changes.
For Apple’s project, the timetable was intricately planned since shooting had to be done over actual Formula One Grand Prix weekends. This allowed the team to include authentic race footage directly into the movie.
Currently, it’s unclear who will take over from Bodnia, but the part is anticipated to be re-cast. The lucky actor chosen for this role will undoubtedly find themselves in a position where they need to step into some rather large footprints, much like Hemsworth did.
After facing criticism about his role in the series, The Witcher’s co-star Freya Allan expressed to Collider that “I don’t want to speak for him, but it seems like he’s eager to convey emotion. From what I know, he’s been preparing by training.
I genuinely empathize with him due to two reasons: firstly, his new fan base can sometimes be quite critical, making it challenging to step into another person’s shoes.
