As a seasoned Assassin, having traversed the winding alleys of Venice and the bustling streets of Constantinople, I can wholeheartedly say that Ubisoft Bordeaux’s Assassin’s Creed Mirage is a welcome return to the series’ roots. After years of battling Vikings in Valhalla, it’s refreshing to step back into the shoes of a street thief, Basim, and witness his transformation into a member of the Hidden Ones.
In a nod back to the series, Ubisoft Bordeaux’s “Assassin’s Creed Mirage” has just landed on Steam, having been released a year ago. You can grab it now with a 50% discount! This game delves into the beginnings of Basim, who you may remember from “Assassin’s Creed Valhalla”, as he transitions from a street thief to joining the secret society known as the Hidden Ones.
To play Ubisoft games on Steam like others, you’ll first need to download the Ubisoft Connect launcher and have an account. After linking it to your Steam profile, you won’t require the launcher for future logins. The Steam edition comes with a “lighter” version of the launcher, and it also offers Achievements support.
Beyond just being playable on the Steam Deck, Assassin’s Creed Mirage currently falls under the “Unknown” category. However, an upcoming update is expected to move it to the “Playable” category and allow you to start with low settings already applied. Ubisoft advises that higher settings might affect the gameplay experience and could potentially cause instability when playing on Steam Deck, so be mindful of this.
