As a fervent admirer of the artistry and passion that dance brings to our lives, I find myself deeply moved by the recent events surrounding former Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Giovanni Pernice and his partner Amanda Abbington.

Previously, the actress from “Sherlock” had lodged formal accusations concerning the conduct of her dance partner Pernice during Strictly Come Dancing rehearsals, leading to an investigation by the BBC.
Just last month, our company offered an apology to Abbington following a probe that confirmed allegations of verbal intimidation and mistreatment. However, accusations of physical assault and menacing conduct were unsubstantiated in this case.
According to the report, Abbington clarified that certain individuals have alleged she is dishonest, disruptive, and mentally unbalanced.
She stated: “Additionally, I’ve been given menaces of rape, murder, and even a bomb scare at my workplace. Sadly, my loved ones and kids have faced similar threats and acts of intimidation.
Currently, Pernice recently spoke about the situation during an interview with Christine Lampard on Lorraine (October 22nd). In this interview, he expressed that it has been a challenging year for him and he desires to clear up any misconceptions.
He continued: “I’m relieved that the most serious allegations have been thrown out,” admitting that he’s also “a bit upset that we couldn’t make it all the way to the final”.
Regarding the accusations concerning my teaching methods, I’ve stated openly that I’m a firm instructor… you’re likely aware of Giovanni’s style and approach to teaching.
I concur with BBC’s stance; it was commendable of Amanda to speak up. In truth, I felt relieved when the matter concluded. It’s heartening that we now have a report confirming what wasn’t said. Everyone should feel empowered to share their troubles with someone. I believe she made the appropriate choice.
Upon viewing the Newsnight footage featuring Abbington after the BBC review’s end, Pernice commented: “So much of it isn’t accurate. I believe it’s best to acknowledge the outcome and proceed with our lives.
In response to being asked about the abusive comments directed at Abbington following the accusations, Pernice expressed: “The cruel remarks and the messages were appalling. It’s unacceptable behavior, not even for someone’s greatest adversary.
Therefore, all those communications she got, discussing her child, daughter and son, containing threats against life or any form of harm, should never occur under any circumstances.
Following the completion of the investigation, Abbington released a statement expressing: “Although I’ve faced such despicable mistreatment, I’ve never had second thoughts about speaking up, and today’s apology from the BBC validates my allegation.
This success isn’t merely a validation for me; it also serves as validation for others who’ve reached out to me after voicing their worries about their personal experiences on Strictly Come Dancing.
As a devoted cinephile, I’ve been keeping quiet for far too long, but today, I feel empowered. The BBC has extended an invitation for me to discuss matters with their top brass, and I’m seriously contemplating this opportunity. This apology they’ve offered carries immense weight for me. It’s also significant that they’ve admitted the measures taken earlier to safeguard and support myself and previous contestants were not sufficient – a realization that resonates deeply.
Alongside their statement, the BBC emphasized that they prioritize the well-being of all parties involved in Strictly. They strive to make it a fulfilling experience for everyone, taking their duty of care very seriously.
