As a seasoned viewer of EastEnders who can remember the iconic Christmas episodes of yesteryears, I must say that the teaser from Richie Webb has me intrigued and slightly apprehensive. The mention of “deceit, tragic and sad” is reminiscent of some of the most memorable Christmas specials in the show’s history.
Despite being two months until Christmas, the actors from EastEnders have been busy filming holiday episodes. However, their demeanor might not reflect the usual joy associated with this season.
Absolutely, during last Christmas, Keanu Taylor met his end at the hands of Linda Carter, an event that’s been looming over The Square residents ever since December 25. It seems like more turbulence lies ahead for them.
Anticipating some upcoming events, Richie mentioned: “On Christmas, several things occurred, and since I knew Kat and Alfie would be part of it, I decided not to read the script ahead of time. I didn’t want to find out what transpired at the Queen Vic on that special day.
“But oh my God!
On Christmas Day, I found myself seated at the Queen Vic, observing the events of the story unfold. As a devoted viewer of the series, I couldn’t help but exclaim, ‘Oh my goodness, I never thought this would happen! Please stop!’
He continued: “I had to do a line and I kept messing it up because I was so taken in with that the storyline that was happening.
“You’re in for a lovely treat this Christmas Day.”
Despite not revealing much about future events, when asked to describe his perspective on Christmas, Richie simply put it as “deceptive, tragic, and sorrowful.
Well, the opportunities could be endless!
This Christmas season, it remains uncertain what events await us on Albert Square, as producers aim to maintain suspense; but, based on Richie’s statements, we can expect another sensational installment in the annals of memorable holiday episodes.
