This Country reunion confirmed for Daisy May Cooper’s Am I Being Unreasonable? season 2

As a devoted fan of British comedies, I’ve been eagerly anticipating the return of “Am I Being Unreasonable?” ever since its gripping and hilarious debut. The announcement of the second season has sent me into a frenzy, with an impressive lineup of guest stars that would make even the most hardened comedy critic crack a smile.

In its second season, it seems that Am I Being Unreasonable? is shaping up to provide an exciting comeback for our favorite comedy series – with a number of notable guest appearances being confirmed.

In this new version, Daisy May Cooper and Selin Hizli, who play Nic and Jen respectively, are set to return. However, they’ll have some new colleagues joining the cast.

In the upcoming Season 2, American comedian and actress Chelsea Peretti (known for Brooklyn Nine-Nine), along with Tom Davis (famous for Wonka), Denise Black (recognized from Queer as Folk), Jamali Maddix (Follow the Leader), and British rapper and poet Kojey Radical will be gracing our screens.

Additionally, it’s worth mentioning that Daisy May Cooper and her brother Charlie are expected to share the screen again unexpectedly. This is because Charlie will make a guest appearance in the second season of Am I Being Unreasonable?, which will be their first joint project since This Country.

Without revealing specifics about the new roles just yet, you can expect plenty of humor and disorderly events in the upcoming second season.

In summary, the second season, set to air next year, will pick up right from where the first season ended, in the midst of a panic attack.

It’s quite plausible that Nic has escaped justice for the murder. Could it be that she’s been passing on her questionable ways to her son, Oliver?

Due to a sibling disagreement over affection, Nic finds herself displaced from her family home. Her affection was misplaced towards the incorrect brother. As a result, she’s compelled to live in a caravan together with her less reliable best friend, Jen.

“Nic’s husband Dan has taken up roller-blading to channel his mid-life crisis.

At the school entrance, Nic has been ostracized, and during the school play, she was portrayed as a witch. Now, Nic is having vivid imaginings, or perhaps someone is pranking her?

Indeed, Am I Being Unreasonable? wouldn’t feel quite complete without the comeback of the talented young actor, Lenny Rush, who later won a BAFTA for portraying Cooper’s on-screen son, Ollie.

Among those reprising their roles are Dustin Demri-Burns (from Slow Horses), David Fynn (known for Daddy Issues), Juliet Cowan (renowned from Back to Life), Phil Dunning (familiar face in Smoggie Queens) and Georgie Glenn (a regular on Call the Midwife).

Joining the recurring actors are Beatie Edney (known from Poldark), Amanda Wilkin (recognized from The Split), Helen Ann Bauer (familiar face from Live at the Apollo), Marek Larwood (well-known as We Are Klang member) and Karla Crome (popular for her role in Under the Dome).

In season 2, Cooper remarked: “If you felt Lenny Rush’s BAFTA-winning act stole the show in the first series, just wait until you see how he outshines me entirely in season 2. You might even question if I was part of it at all… I was furious.

In a similar manner, Hizli expressed his gratitude: “May goodness favor the BBC and all those involved, as they allow us another intriguing twist in this tale that can be both grim and amusing, yet consistently eccentric.

It’s been a pleasure and an honor to re-engage with the community at AIBU, and we truly hope you all enjoy watching it just as much as we’ve enjoyed creating it.

Ever since its debut in 2022, fans of the BBC comedy have undoubtedly been eagerly anticipating new episodes. Without a doubt, the show has proven to be a major success for the network.

So much so that the first season launched to 3.2 million viewers.

Although the specific date for the upcoming season is still undisclosed, we can confirm that it’s scheduled to debut next year.

As a dedicated cinephile, I can’t help but wonder if it’s too early to binge-watch the first season of “Am I Being Unreasonable?” Now streaming on BBC iPlayer. Excitedly, I’m looking forward to the premiere of season 2 in 2025!
