Surprisingly, the artist famous for “Lose Yourself” took the stage to introduce a past president at the October 22 gathering supporting Democratic nominees Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in Detroit.
In his speech, Eminem expressed that Detroit and Michigan hold a special place in his heart. He emphasized that with the attention focused on the state during this election, it’s crucial for people to exercise their right to vote. So, he’s urging everyone to make their way to the polls.
He went on to say, “Additionally, I believe it’s important for individuals not to suppress their viewpoints. Furthermore, I don’t envision a nation like ours where people fear backlash or repercussions for openly sharing their thoughts.
As applause roared in the arena, Eminem also clapped while Obama made his way to the stage.
It makes perfect sense that the Grammy award-winner, who hails from Detroit, warmly received the Chicago resident, as it was in the Michigan city of Detroit where Eminem (originally named Marshall Mathers) spent his childhood and achieved initial fame in his musical journey.
In his documentary short “Marshall From Detroit” in 2019, he expressed that the city was familiar to him, stating, “I’ve traveled extensively, but this place, it feels like home. It simply is home. The atmosphere, the people here – everything resonates with what I cherish.
Additionally, it’s their residence where his daughter, Hailie Jade (aged 28), who is married to Evan McClintock, now resides with him. The Mathers family has experienced quite a bit lately, as Hailie tied the knot in May and announced this month that she and her husband are expecting a baby boy.

They thought they were merely capturing some shots, so their surprised reactions had to be muted as they exclaimed, ‘What in the world is happening here? Is this for real?’
However, after absorbing the information, Eminem, the renowned rapper, was eagerly prepared to spectate the game, flaunting his latest style.
