In a heartfelt Instagram post on October 23rd, Patricia shared the sad news that our cherished Michael passed away peacefully in Sarasota the previous morning. He was more than just a dedicated butler; he was a trusted friend, confidant, and integral part of our family for over two decades.
I’m dedicating this coming week to honoring Michael, knowing how deeply he touched all of your lives, just as he did ours. His absence will undoubtedly be felt keenly.
As a die-hard admirer, I couldn’t help but learn about the heartbreaking news through a CaringBridge site that had been our beacon of hope, providing updates on Michael’s deteriorating health in the past few weeks.
Michael gained widespread popularity as a beloved figure on the Southern Charm TV show following its debut in 2014. Regrettably, he had to resign from Patricia’s service in 2021 due to a sudden spinal stroke that left him paralyzed from his chest down.
In spite of his health issues, Michael and Patricia maintained a strong friendship with the socialite from Charleston. Even as her staff member underwent rehabilitation at an assisted living facility in Florida, she remained committed to caring for him.
Patricia posted on social media on October 7th with a heavy heart, informing everyone that Michael has unfortunately suffered another stroke. Although he’s unable to read messages on his phone or Instagram, she mentioned that he can still receive cards. Since his birthday is coming up on the 13th of this month, it would mean a lot to him if his fans could show their support by sending him a card.
