Charles Ling Details Sweet Scene You Didn't See on Golden Bachelorette

As a dedicated follower of The Golden Bachelorette, I must say that Charles Ling is truly a gem among gems. His heartwarming story and genuine character have captivated viewers since the first episode, and his journey has been nothing short of inspiring.

Charles Ling is not in charge of which scenes make the final cut of The Golden Bachelorette.

As a devoted admirer, I’m thrilled to share an endearing behind-the-scenes story that never made it on air, and it stars my esteemed castmate, none other than Bob Kilroy.

Charles shared with TopMob News during an exclusive interview that after discovering Bob was a strong swimmer, he asked him, “Bob, why is it so hard for me to swim quickly?” Charles confessed he struggles. Bob then requested Charles to demonstrate his swimming style, and he did. Bob pointed out that one of the main problems Charles faced – overly frequent and excessive leg kicks. He advised Charles to remain calm, minimize foot movements, and let his swimming be smooth instead.

So, the retired data analyst gave the chiropractor’s suggestion a try.

“Can you believe it?” he continued. “I took his advice and saw an immediate transformation. He even said, ‘Charles, I’ve never seen a student learn things this quickly.’ It’s quite astonishing for me as well. These days, swimming feels like a whole new experience.

Spectators developed a fondness for Charles just about as swiftly as they observed him competing for Joan Vassos’ heart during the debut season of ‘The Golden Bachelorette’. Despite not receiving Joan’s final rose in the end, Charles acknowledged that the attention he received was a “huge surprise” to him.

He went on to express his appreciation for all the wonderful fans, but admitted he didn’t realize such a massive number of them were ardent supporters of his program.

Although Charles hasn’t had time to go through all the affectionate messages he’s received on social media, he’s deeply moved by the level of care viewers have for him and their awareness of his concern for others.

As for how his daughters feel about his newfound fame?

Charles added, “They’re quite taken aback and astonished,” but he believes they’ll eventually adapt. He also feels that his late wife would approve and encourage him on this new chapter in his life.

Indeed, it will come as a surprise for her as well,” the father of two shared with TopMob, recalling that on the ABC series his wife of 36 years passed away six years ago due to a brain aneurysm. He added, “She once mentioned that Charles can sometimes be rather shy.” However, he also pointed out that she would be concerned about me too. She cherished seeing me embrace a new life full of joy instead of dwelling in sadness. That wasn’t what she desired for me; she wanted to see an old Charles L living happily once more.

Four weeks ago, Joan asked Charles to leave the show, but he maintains contact with several of his fellow cast members, as they even share a group chat. Regarding his personal life, the ex-contestant admitted he’s currently single and seeks someone kind and smart.

But would Charles ever consider handing out the roses as the Golden Bachelor?

He said, “I haven’t given it much thought yet, but if the chance arises and it seems promising, I might take it. That’s because it would be another great opportunity.

The Golden Bachelorette airs Wednesday nights at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
