As a dedicated follower and avid podcast listener, I find myself deeply troubled by the recent turn of events involving Bunnie XO. Having experienced the power of words and their impact in shaping public opinion through my own journey in journalism, it’s disheartening to see such an unfortunate situation unfold.
Bunnie XO is dealing with an unexpected safety concern.
More recently, the podcast host claimed that following discussions with convicted murderer Wade Wilson regarding a possible documentary series on his criminal activities, he inadvertently shared her personal phone number – to at least five different people.
Following our initial phone conversation, Wade decided independently that he would share my phone number with various women, as Bunnie shared during the October 21st episode of her Dumb Blonde podcast. This situation was causing me a great deal of frustration due to the ensuing dramas.
She decided to call him back for another chat, this time recording their discussion, and later featured it in the episode. Essentially, she asked him, “Please, stop causing me problems online.” And he agreed to do so.
The individual condemned to death for the 2019 murders of Kristine Melton, aged 35, and Diane Ruiz, who was 43, confessed on tape that he had disclosed her personal details. However, he also stated that he had stopped doing so afterwards.
“I stopped giving out your number,” Wade, 30, said. “I only did that to like two people.”
However, Bunnie told listeners that it was at least five.
TopMob News contacted the legal representatives of both Wade and Bunnie, seeking their comments, but have not received a response as of yet.
In a heated exchange, Wade reprimanded Bunnie for remarks she supposedly made about him to her followers, whom he claimed had shared proof (screenshots) of their conversations with him.
He asked, “Could you tell me the remark you posted online?” To which he replied, “I actually saved a screenshot of it and it essentially conveys, ‘It’s time for me to demonstrate to these folks what the red flags and warning signs are.’
However, the podcaster clarified what she meant but stood her ground with her intent.
She clarified, “It seems my statement is being misunderstood. They asked, ‘Why did you interview Wade Wilson?’ My response was, ‘I believe it’s important for women to recognize the warning signs of a charismatic individual like him. I don’t see anything wrong with that.’
The event occurred several months following a period in June when the 44-year-old encountered criticism for considering inviting a prisoner on her podcast, an action she now expresses profound remorse over.
During a recent broadcast, she expressed that she felt remorseful for showing empathy towards anyone other than the victims, stating, “I usually strive to understand all perspectives in every situation, but I was unaware of his full story and I shouldn’t have made those comments without knowing more about the details.
Earlier, Bunnie explained her reasons for wanting him involved, a move that later ignited debate.
She expressed her intrigue about his tale, as she shared on her since-removed TikTok in June. “What an exciting opportunity it would be”, she mused, “if I could visit the prison, have a one-on-one conversation with him, and record a podcast!
Later on, people quickly labeled her actions as thoughtless, leading her to offer an apology for the comments she made.
In her subsequent TikTok post, she clarified that her long-term followers would understand her intentions were not to glorify someone. She explained that having an interest in understanding why a criminal acts in such a violent manner doesn’t make one a bad person. However, what makes her inconsiderate is disregarding the feelings of victims’ families during these discussions about criminals.
