Factorio Players Discover a Fix to Huge Issue: “I Rage Quit Over This”

As an ardent gamer with over two decades under my belt, I’ve seen my fair share of game expansions that either make or break a title. The recent release of Factorio: Space Age has certainly piqued my interest, and it’s not every day you see a factory-building game top the charts above heavyweights like Call of Duty and Counter-Strike.

This week on Steam, Factorio: Space Age was launched, pushing the 2020 game to the summit of the Steam rankings, surpassing heavyweights like Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Counter-Strike 2. The recently introduced Space Age expansion is packed with a huge amount of content, as indicated by its $35.00 price point, the same cost as the original game. Unsurprisingly, it has drawn many players back to the factory-building and creation game.

Over on the game’s Reddit page, one of the top posts this week is a post relaying word that when you press the red trash button your space platform will be instantly deleted. This is obviously an oversight, as there should probably be a confirmation screen or some type of second prompt to avoid accidental deletions. Currently there isn’t though, and it is making some players “rage quit.”

It turns out that many (if not most) Factorio players weren’t aware of this, but the top comment in this post uncovered an interesting fact: You actually have the ability to undo the deletion of a platform for up to five minutes following its removal.

If Wube Software’s proposed solution is correct, it might not be ideal as it depends on users spotting the deletion promptly. In fact, if you miss it within five minutes, the only workaround would be to revert to your last manual save, provided you didn’t overwrite it beforehand.

Currently, Wube Software has not provided any statement regarding the issue they’re facing. Consequently, whether there’s a plan to resolve this issue remains uncertain. However, if they announce any updates, we’ll make sure to keep you informed. In the meantime, be cautious while using your platform as several players have reportedly encountered issues that might suggest it’s relatively easy to accidentally delete it.
