As a seasoned gamer and avid manga reader with a decade-long journey through the realms of Shonen Jump series, I can confidently say that the ending of “Jujutsu Kaisen” was just right. It may seem counterintuitive to some fans who are craving more of this captivating universe, but let’s face it – not every story needs a sequel.

As a passionate fan, I must say, Gege Akutami concluded the epic tale of “Jujutsu Kaisen” in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine this Fall, and quite frankly, there’s no need for a sequel anytime soon. Amongst the action-packed series that wrapped up their runs this year from Shueisha, it’s fascinating how fans are clamoring for more of “Jujutsu Kaisen”. Unlike other series like “My Hero Academia”, the conclusion of “Jujutsu Kaisen” is right after its final battle, leaving numerous mysteries shrouding the characters. However, I believe it’s best to keep things as they are and let the story linger in our imaginations.

Jujutsu Kaisen concludes in a manner that leaves many threads open for further exploration, sparking excitement among fans who hope for a sequel or revisit favorite moments. However, the ending may not have resonated with everyone as intended, but this doesn’t necessarily mean the story should continue. On the contrary, some might argue that the series achieved closure, and extending it could disrupt its current balance.

At Least Jujutsu Kaisen Has an Ending

It’s remarkable that Jujutsu Kaisen managed to conclude its story, given the usual length of Shonen Jump series. It’s a rare privilege for an author like Akutami to be able to end the series as he envisioned, considering the collaborative nature of such projects. Therefore, it’s worth appreciating that the author was allowed to stick to his original plan and not tinker with the ending.

Regardless of a fan’s feelings about the ending itself, it’s one that Akutami had delivered and thus is the official ending. Unless the creator outright says he wants to continue with a new story, this is as far as the creator wanted to do go with these characters. So just in practical terms, if the story is over then it’s really over. This isn’t a case where it was cut off before its prime and therefore never got to truly end, but instead it’s a series ending after we got to see everything the creator wanted us to see.

Jujutsu Kaisen’s Not Over Yet Anyway

The manga for Jujutsu Kaisen may have concluded, but the series isn’t finished by any stretch. It’s much like what happened with Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba when its manga ended – author Koyoharu Gotoge was wrapping up the manga at a time when the franchise was skyrocketing in popularity. The anime adaptation has maintained this momentum since then. Similarly, Jujutsu Kaisen is poised to follow suit with at least two or three more seasons of its TV series yet to come.

The anime adaptation of Jujutsu Kaisen is set to expand significantly in the upcoming arcs, offering more and more intense battles. This approach will help maintain the series and eventually prepare fans for its inevitable conclusion. However, it’s unfortunate that the original story has come to an end, as continuing it might push the narrative beyond what its creator intended.

Despite numerous unresolved queries and some aspects seemingly irrelevant or unnecessary to delve deeper into, we’re content with leaving them as mysteries. We wouldn’t want Jujutsu Kaisen to seem contrived in any way or lose its original charm. After all, we know the pitfalls of sequels that miss the mark initially, so let’s ensure Jujutsu Kaisen continues to shine as it did before.
