As I reflect on the lives of these individuals, it seems that they are all grappling with profound changes and difficult decisions. Kody, Meri, Christine, and Gabriel, each in their own way, are asserting their boundaries and seeking personal growth.
Christine Brown wasn’t willing to expand her wedding guest list.
Although Sister Wives star wasn’t officially engaged to now-husband David Woolley during the October 27 episode of the TLC series, she and her boyfriend of a month were heavily involved in wedding preparations. They spent most of the episode exploring potential Utah wedding venues and discussing their extensive guest list.
Christine mentioned that she intends to invite her sister wife, Janelle Brown, along with Janelle’s six kids, to the wedding. She explicitly stated that she is certain about inviting Leon, who is Meri Brown’s child. However, Christine shared that she isn’t quite ready to be in the company of Meri Brown, Robyn Brown, and Kody Brown just yet.
Following her separation from ex-husband Kody in 2021 (father of her daughters Aspyn Thompson, 29, Mykelti Padron, 28, Gwendlyn Brown, 22, Ysabel Brown, 21, Truely Brown, 14, and son Paedon Brown, 26), Christine decided to distance herself from her former sister wives Meri and Robyn. She expressed that at the moment, she was not prepared to rebuild a relationship with these two women.
Following Christine’s departure from Kody, both Janelle and Meri subsequently parted ways with their respective partners, making Robyn the sole wife left for Kody.
Kody mentioned in his private thoughts, “I’ve been told that Christine is dating someone.” He also overheard whispers that he’s the one who completes Christine’s soul. She seems thrilled about this new relationship. I feel hurt on her behalf if it means she’d be bound to me forever, when there was another potential partner for her to discover.
Despite Kody, Meri, and Robyn not receiving invitations, the couple was determined to ensure their wedding would be a splendid event.
Christine informed the venue coordinator that they’d likely require at least 350 attendees, mentioning that if she invited everyone from her and David’s extended family, it would necessitate sending out 700 invitations. She explained that both families are quite large, with six kids in her family, but a total of 18 children when counting all the siblings together, including David.
Meanwhile, David appeared satisfied with getting married in Las Vegas, but he was equally eager to make Christine’s dream wedding come true as well.
As her ardent admirer, I wholeheartedly believe Christine is due for a grand, lavish wedding she’s yet to experience. In our shared confession, I expressed my deepest desire to make this dream come true for her—something far more meaningful than a quickie in Vegas.
Indeed, I was fortunate enough to attend the beautiful wedding ceremony of a delightful couple in Moab, Utah, last October 2023. The joyous occasion was graced by Janelle and most of their charming children. To my delight, they recently celebrated their first anniversary, and I must say, TopMob News had the exclusive scoop: this adorable pair has some exciting plans up their sleeves!
“We’re finally going on our honeymoon,” Christine shared. “We’re leaving on November 1.”

Kody Brown expressed his intention to separate from his first wife, Meri Brown, soon after they exchanged vows in 1990. However, as he told her, “When we move to Flagstaff, this will be a fresh start for us,” leading Meri to believe that things would improve. This pattern of deceit has been repeated numerous times over the years, according to Meri’s statements during the Sept. 15 premiere, referencing their 2018 move.
She mentioned frankly that her primary concern is his inconsistent communication about his true feelings, desires, and dislikes, as well as the narrative he has been maintaining throughout their relationship.
Kody admitted that his actions might have sent ambiguous signals, but as he began to tackle various tasks, he found himself questioning the logic behind them, saying, “What’s the point of doing this?” He clarified that he wouldn’t pursue a relationship with her at this time.
Either way, Meri’s friends were thrilled when she finally pulled the plug in early 2023.
She admitted, “They’re saying, ‘Yes, we’re here, offering you help. And it’s long overdue,'” she confessed. Removing her blinders, she now believes that he had been encouraging her to leave for years by claiming he didn’t love her, “For if he could make me depart and I do, he wouldn’t be the villain because he didn’t walk away.
A number of years following the acquisition of a 14-acre property intended for construction in Flagstaff, Ariz., Kody expressed in the season opener that he was ready to abandon the dream. As they hadn’t yet fully paid off the $820,000 cost (a debt reportedly settled by the family in 2023), he suggested to his remaining wife Robyn Brown, “I’d almost prefer to either discard it or sell it and then restart somewhere new.
As for Robyn, “I can’t talk about that,” she responded. “That is so not where I’m at.”
Initially, Janelle Brown expressed to TopMob News that they were gradually drifting apart. However, it was primarily Kody’s shortcomings in his role as a parent to some of their children that led her to decide to part ways.
The mom shared with Logan Brown, Madison Brown Brush, Hunter Brown, Garrison Brown, Gabriel Brown, and Savanah Brown that the turning point for her was when his relationship with her children deteriorated and he didn’t appear to be making a significant effort to mend it. She added, “That was what kept me tied down here, but when I realized that, I thought, ‘Ah, now I understand.’
Kody provided a reason for not exerting more effort to repair the strained relationships he had with some of his grown-up kids, as stated in that statement.
In the episode on September 15th, he expressed his feelings by saying, “I no longer seem to belong in our family,” due to the fact that he remains married to Robyn and together they parent their five children: Dayton Brown, Aurora Brown, Breanna Brown, Solomon Brown, and Ariella Brown. Yet, he also maintains some connections with a few other children but these relationships are sporadic. He questioned, “With all of this, what am I supposed to do? It doesn’t feel like we’re still a family.
Even though they’ve finally become genuinely monogamous after 14 years together, Robyn admitted in the season 19 premiere that their marriage is currently at its lowest point. “Things have been difficult between us,” she said. “Kody doesn’t know who to blame – himself or one of his other wives. He feels a lot of rejection and I think he’s worried that I might reject him too.
Consequently, she disclosed, “I’m constantly vigilant. I’m always checking to ensure he isn’t undermining our relationship.” The most challenging aspect, she concluded: “There’s no support available for the notion that I’m still wedded to a man who is going through multiple divorces.
Meanwhile, Kody found himself grappling with a wave of self-doubt, expressing, “I just can’t bring myself to tell my reflection, ‘Hi there, buddy. I adore you.’
Add Madison, daughter of Janelle’s eldest child, to the list of kids who are currently estranged from Kody. As Janelle stated during the premiere, “I know that Maddie hasn’t had any contact with her father.” He hasn’t reached out to her, she hasn’t contacted him, and there is no ongoing relationship between them. In essence, she has disconnected herself from both Kody and Robin.
To put it in my own words as an ardent fan, the crux of the matter, as expressed by Janelle, revolves around Kody not fully engaging with Maddie’s children Axel, Evangalynn, and Josephine: “She feels he should only interact with them if he can make a firm commitment.
In the Sept. 22 episode, it was revealed that as the family began to fall apart, Kody apparently stopped communicating with Maddie and her husband, Caleb Brush, who is connected to Kody through marriage (his sister was married to Kody’s brother).
Without Kody being around or reaching out, Maddie has taken on a very protective role, as Janelle put it. She feels that until he can be reliable, present without drama, it might be best for everyone if they remain unaware of him.
Additionally, Robyn mentioned that she’s been urging Kody to take steps to repair their relationship. She expressed, “It seems fitting for our children to do the same as well.
Currently, it appears Kody isn’t prepared to mend the estrangement as he frequently complains that whenever he talks to his daughter, their conversations seem more like spreading rumors, which has become tiresome for him.
During their 32nd anniversary celebration, Meri confided in her friend Brandi that Kody had hinted he never truly loved her and felt compelled to marry her. In response, Meri asserted, “‘Kody,’ I said, ‘I know you did love me.’
And if he didn’t, the mom to Leon Brown said in a confessional, why did he ever propose?
“If a bachelor encounters a bachelorette, why would he decide to marry her without initially feeling love for her? It seems harsh, like saying ‘I select you from this group, now I’ll try to compel myself to love you for the following 32 years’, doesn’t it?
In his personal reflection, Kody stated, “Now Meri is making some allegations. Well, let her say what she pleases. I have no intention of responding to them.
Though, he would share that they never enjoyed a honeymoon period.
On the October 20th episode, he firmly stated that their marriage was troubled from the start. He clarified that he had particularly strong relationships with Janelle, Christine, and Robyn, which gave him insight into the state of their marriage.
He acknowledged that he should have ended the relationship about 25 years back, but he remained due to fear, pointing out that leadership would not permit remarriage if one is disposing of spouses.
Despite being unsure whether to develop Coyote Pass or sell it, Janelle realized the first move was clearing the debt on the Arizona property. With Kody refusing to discuss the matter, she admitted to ex-sister wife Christine Brown in the September 22 episode that she felt she might need legal representation. “I think I’ll have to seek a lawyer,” she confessed, “as I believe that’s the only way I can ever get any kind of resolution from him.
Janelle admitted that since she and Kody aren’t legally married, “I have no legal grounds to assert any kind of claim on Kody’s property.” To explain further, she said, “It’s not as simple as contacting a lawyer about a divorce. Instead, it’s quite complex because there’s no legal marriage between us.
Kody explains that he’s decided not to discuss the Arizona property with Janelle anymore, as he now lacks trust in her.
He emphasized during the September 22 episode that he would settle the property when necessary, and he didn’t want to share his plans or updates because he’s grown weary of revealing details that get misconstrued by the rumor mill within our fractured family.
A bit of a pot calling the kettle black, Janelle said in her own interview.
She conveyed, “He spills secrets as if he’s got holes in him, I discovered. He shared information about his past relationships and multiple wives, which left me feeling it wasn’t appropriate for him to disclose such things to me.
When the family’s love was increasing instead of decreasing, they would combine all their funds in a single savings account.
In simpler terms, Janelle said during the September 22nd broadcast, “We would go out of our way to assist one person, and then we’d unite to aid the other. That was the norm until around a decade ago. But now it seems like everything is focused on personal estates, and everyone wants their own.
When Robyn required a house in Arizona, everyone contributed to purchase her spacious five-bedroom property worth approximately $1.65 million, which had been on the market since August.
Initially, Robyn mentioned that buying the property would benefit the entire family. However, when Janelle proposed that everyone should share the mortgage, she was met with resistance. Kody stated something along the lines of, “No, no, we need to safeguard Robyn’s assets,” as recalled by Janelle. Now that she is leaving the family, Janelle expressed her desire to receive her fair share from Coyote Pass and also recover some of the funds she invested in Robyn’s house.
But that could be a tough sell.
In my experience of collaborating with them for quite some time now, it’s left me perplexed when Janelle mentioned she’s owed money. I find myself questioning the math behind it all, as it seems rather complicated and confusing to me.
Janelle expressed frustration about the family’s struggle to repay Coyote Pass loans, stating that Kody often mentioned having numerous other debts. However, she has observed him acquiring various assets such as trailers and home decor items. She pointed out the artwork on Robyn and Kody’s walls and said, “I see all these things.” She acknowledged that she too had spent money on possessions, but found it confusing given their financial situation. In response, Kody explained that most of his funds were used for purchasing cars and insuring the children.
Although Janelle admitted she wasn’t privy to the financial management of Kody and Robyn, she often found herself taken aback by the luxurious state of Robyn’s backyard. It was always fully landscaped and well-maintained. Moreover, she frequently noticed an abundance of items at Robyn’s home, which prompted her to exclaim, ‘Wow. Really?’
Essentially, she expressed that he failed to place importance on her requirements or desires, which over time became an issue for her. She further explained, “I guess I eventually recognized it, and even my grown children were upset about it, almost to the point of frustration, like ‘Why, Mom?’
In Robyn’s opinion, she became particularly mindful about managing her finances following the breakdown of her initial marriage.
She admitted during the September 22 episode that she wasn’t very good with managing money in the past. She experienced difficult financial struggles when she was young, and it was during her divorce that she learned the importance of budgeting effectively. Regarding her fellow sister wives, she explained, “It seems like you prioritized your spending differently than I did, that’s all.
Currently, as revealed in the September 22 episode, Janelle admitted that she and Meri, along with Robyn and their respective families, seldom communicate. She expressed a feeling that this situation is unlikely to change significantly in the near future.
Speaking about their period residing on a cul-de-sac with four houses in Las Vegas, Kody referred to it as “the peak of my life.” He expressed that everything was running smoothly, and the presence of Maddie and Caleb made it even better. Additionally, he fondly mentioned his affection for Caleb, stating that he felt like family towards him.
However, a disagreement about coronavirus safety measures caused discord in Arizona. Later, he lamented that when his marriages ended, so did his close relationships with his children, explaining, “This led to an overall deterioration of our bond.
But Christine insisted their were issues well before she announced she was leaving in late 2021.
She mentioned during the September 22 broadcast that the children who felt frustrated had been feeling that way long before she departed. Leaving hadn’t affected their bond with him, and Kody has the ability to mend his relationships with his kids even now.
Though it’ll definitely take some work.
Kody expressed his feelings by saying, “I’m still very upset about how I’ve been perceived because of what my wife or ex-wife has said about me. I don’t accept responsibility for actions they claim I took, and I hope that one day the resentment will fade away so we can rediscover forgiveness and love.
At the ages of 21 and 19, Kody admitted that he and Meri were not particularly well acquainted when they got married spiritually and legally. They eventually decided to file for divorce in 2014 so Kody could legally adopt Robyn’s three oldest children from her previous marriage.
In our wedding, I found her to be quite distinct from what I had anticipated, and over time, I came to realize there were certain issues she carried with her that I hadn’t been aware of earlier. At first, I believed I could adapt to these differences. However, as time passed, it felt like everything we did was a source of conflict. I can no longer endure a life where she is persistently agitated towards me.
Speaking as a lifestyle advisor, I’ve found myself in a complex situation similar to Kody’s. In a plural marriage, I was bound by its unique rules. If one wishes to remain faithful and committed to the faith, a divorce is not an option, it’s forbidden. Consequently, I found myself unable to break free from that relationship. Yet, it wasn’t about escaping; instead, I yearned to understand if there was a chance to mend and salvage it.
Consequently, he admitted that Meri believed they could resolve their issues. However, whenever they were together, Kody stated, “She wasn’t pleasant, she wasn’t enjoyable, she wasn’t considerate, she wasn’t engaging. I’m trying to be interested in her, but I’m growing tired.
In a spirit of fairness, he acknowledged that it might seem like Meri was left behind, but he clarified, “I didn’t forcefully evict her. Instead, Christine, Janelle, and Meri decided for themselves that I should depart from our shared home.
Even though neither Janelle nor Christine considered the necessity of divorcing Kody due to their union being informal, Meri petitioned their church for a formal separation, termed a “release”, towards the end of 2022.
In the episode from September 22nd, she clarified that all four of us had a special union with Kody through our church when we married him. Technically, it wasn’t legal, but we referred to it as a covenant. Since we aren’t pursuing any further marriages and I don’t want to be bound to him for eternity if he doesn’t wish the same, I believe it’s time to end this completely, and by that, I mean separate ourselves entirely from this religious bond.
As a lifestyle guide, I found myself initially hesitant towards embracing the church’s guidance. I didn’t want to concede to their leadership or acknowledge their power in the traditional sense.
Speaking from the heart as a deeply passionate admirer, let me rephrase it: “The harm inflicted was so profound that reconciliation is no longer an option, regardless of circumstances. Frankly, I find myself unwilling to answer to this church and its complications before a higher power. Thus, I’m choosing to set Meri free to chart her own course because if I harbor anger towards her, it fosters conflict. I simply yearn for her to disappear from my life because it feels as though it took an eternity for her to comprehend that this is over and done with, for years now.
2021 holiday gift exchange conversation among the 18 Brown offspring took an unpleasant turn as Christine recounted. “Matters escalated quickly,” she shared. “Kody, Robyn, and their children stood firm against Janelle, me, and our kids. A divide formed following this text conversation.
According to Robyn, her older children expressed that they found the encounter “uncomfortable emotionally” and decided it would be best for them to distance themselves from the relationship, not because they want to cut ties completely. Instead, she clarified, their concern was more along the lines of, “Oops, this became awkward.
For his part, Gabriel is hoping that they could find their way back to each other.
He admitted in the October 13th episode that what he longs for most is re-establishing a bond with Robyn’s kids. In middle school, Aurora was the one he enjoyed spending time with the most, and in high school, he often tried to connect with Dayton. However, he isn’t optimistic about forming a relationship with their father and Robyn.
Aurora firmly stated that she was informed on numerous occasions by various individuals, both directly and indirectly, that she wasn’t welcomed into the family when her mom married Kody in 2010. They made it clear to her that she wasn’t their sister, they didn’t perceive or treat her as such.
Breanna mentioned that the parents might have made more effort to bring our family closer together, but unfortunately, that connection never materialized.
But Christine isn’t sure how they could have opened their arms any wider.
The implication is that she said, “You’re always welcome at our home, feel free to drop by whenever it suits you.
At the same time, she mentioned, her daughter Ysabel Brown was extremely close to Robyn’s children, and Mykelti Brown Padron even resided with them for a while. “There were tough periods, and my children felt frustrated at times,” she said, “but they viewed Robyn’s kids as their siblings just as dearly.
In her enthusiasm for the freedom it provided, Janelle expressed her view on polygamy as follows: “When it works well, you become part of this incredible family network, linked into a community that nurtures you. You have a husband whom you share a strong bond with, and yet you retain your independence too. To me, plural marriage offers a unique blend of companionship and autonomy.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d put it this way: In my opinion, Kody found it particularly challenging to spread his affection evenly following our move from Las Vegas to Arizona in 2018.
In the September 29th episode, it was observed that when Kody relocated to Flagstaff, he found it less challenging to stay away. Occasionally, I had to remind him of our agreed-upon visits since he’d often cite fatigue as an excuse. She explained, “I understand you’re tired, but you can rest just as well at my house as you would at Robyn’s.
In simpler terms, Janelle asserted that her children were reprimanded for opening Robyn’s refrigerator. This sense of distance stemmed from the fact that, as Christine’s kids observed, Robyn was in a relationship with their father, but he wasn’t physically present in their home.
And Robyn said her crew definitely felt the divide.
She mentioned that Meri generally welcomed my children and me with open arms, while the rest of the family found it challenging to accept us. She expressed this sentiment during the September 29th episode, adding that our wish was simply to become a part of their family.
As a devoted follower, I can attest that my siblings and I left no stone unturned to ensure their inclusion.
In the October 13th episode, he expressed his belief that Robyn seems to have a tendency to view herself as a victim. To put it simply, this is his perspective. And, to be fair, I don’t think it’s entirely her fault for feeling this way. Different people, you understand, use various tactics to stay afloat in life.
Yet, he went on to say, “If it’s truly in her mind that we mistreated her or her children while she was receiving preferential treatment from Dad and we were focusing on building relationships with them, if she genuinely thinks this, then I can never have a relationship with Robyn.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d put it this way: In my experience, growing up with my dad moving between four different homes definitely left its mark on me and my 18 siblings. During a recent discussion, I vividly recalled an instance from January 2016 when Robyn and my youngest, Ariella, wouldn’t let go of my leg as I tried to leave. This poignant memory serves as a testament to the profound impact such living arrangements can have on a family.
As a devoted father juggling multiple families, I found myself in a challenging position, saying, “There are other wives and children who depend on me, other mothers and offspring needing to be with their dad.” But she clung to me, heartbroken and pleading, “Don’t abandon me, Daddy, don’t leave me.” It’s tough, I can tell you that.
Unfortunately, that’s just a reality of plural marriage, insisted Janelle.
Right from the start, she made it clear to her children that their father wouldn’t be around consistently. I’ve often felt that Kody and Robyn mishandled the situation with their kids. He couldn’t leave for more than a few days at a time because Ari would get so upset. To me, that seemed like poor parenting. Throughout the family’s history, the other children have handled similar situations, and they’ve turned out to be well-adjusted adults.
Among a small number of children with Brown heritage, Mykelti maintained relationships with both Robyn, Kody, and also their sister-wives Christine and Janelle. During Kody’s divorces, it was Mykelti who often assumed the role of a mediator to preserve peace among them.
Ever since Robyn joined the Brown clan, Mykelti warmly welcomed her to such an extent that she asked her to be present during the birth of her twins in November 2022 – Archer and Ace.
During the September 29th episode, Mykelti expressed that when Robyn initially became part of our family, I was still trying to understand myself. She made me feel unique and understood, she was present when I needed someone. She was there for me during moments when I needed someone to listen, to care for me.
Her mother, Christine, couldn’t have been more delighted. As Robyn joined their family and it was clear she and Mykelti had a wonderful connection, this is exactly what I had hoped for, she expressed on the Oct. 6 episode. When I dreamed of having a plural family, I longed for my children to have strong relationships with other mothers, and that’s precisely what I am seeing now.
Kody believes it’s not just his wives who are choosing to exclude him from their lives; instead, he thinks they are intentionally doing so as a form of retribution for a crime he didn’t commit, according to his perspective shared during the October 6 episode. He stated that he is merely guilty of not having fallen deeply in love with their mothers.
What’s more, he continued, he think his former spouses are a bit to blame.
He expressed that the strain in his relationship with his kids is predominantly in his own thoughts due to negative comments. He explained that there’s a swirling feeling of disillusionment from the family separation, and it seems as though he’s being held accountable for the mistakes made, saying, “Well, it must be Dad who made the errors.
However, although he accepts some responsibility, he strongly objects to the derogatory remarks. In fact, when discussing his relationship with Hunter, Maddie, and Gabriel, Kody admitted that one of his children had texted something hurtful like, “You are worthless. I wouldn’t talk to you again even if I tried.
In another occurrence, he expressed to the cameras, “One of my children recently said to me, ‘You’re behaving badly. I won’t talk to you anymore. You’ve deceived me and influenced me unfairly.’
He won’t continue dealing with the venom, he stated. He added that he believes it’s time for his elders to step up and address the issues at hand. He’s prepared to put in the work, but he expects someone else to be ready to reciprocate as well.
For Robyn, watching Kody’s estrangement from his adult children hit far too close to home.
As a child, her parents went through a divorce. At that time, her biological father lived with another woman in a different city, while her mother lived on her own. During our conversation on October 6th, she shared her feelings about this situation, explaining how she confronted him asking why he wasn’t around when she was younger. He offered weak explanations, which left her feeling frustrated and disappointed because it was painful to not have him there for her during those crucial years.
In my perspective, I wasn’t going to let Kody’s feelings of hurt deter me from putting forth effort. During our intense discussion, caught on camera towards the end of 2022, I candidly expressed, “I find it difficult not to feel a bit of waning respect for you.
Kody admitted that he could improve his relationship with his children, but he emphasized that healing his own heart is a necessary step first.
As a lifestyle expert, I find myself in a challenging situation where I feel my children may be ganging up on me. The recent events have left me so furious that any interaction with them could potentially set me off with a response I might later regret. At this moment, I’m too emotionally charged to engage without causing more harm.
Despite many members of their family being present at Logan and Michelle Petty’s wedding in October 2022, it seemed that Janelle and Kody didn’t truly share their joy or affection for the occasion.
In the October 6th episode, I couldn’t help but express my frustration to Robyn. You see, Madison, with her children, hurriedly moved away from me – a sight that left me feeling excluded. What made it worse was that my daughter hadn’t shared with me the exciting news of her third pregnancy, little Josephine, who made her arrival in February 2023. I still can’t believe she didn’t inform me about this joyful development.
Frankly, Maddie doesn’t tell her dad much of anything with the two rarely speaking.
As a lifestyle advisor, I’d put it this way: Maddie has no relationship with Kody, as Janelle shared. She deeply values her role as a protective parent and wants to shield her children from unexpected encounters. To be precise, Kody hasn’t been present since Evie was born, over three and a half years ago. Therefore, Maddie chose not to let him casually appear and claim his grandfatherly role without proper introduction, to avoid confusing the kids and leaving them wondering, “Who is this man?
Kody expressed that it’s unattainable for grandparents to be constantly present in their grandchildren’s lives, citing Maddie’s situation in North Carolina as an example. He noted that if you relocate your children to another coast entirely, maintaining such a close bond can be challenging due to work and personal commitments in other locations, like Flagstaff.
It appears that there’s a significant difference in perspective between Kody and his grown-up kids regarding their current rift, with a key issue being his insistence on some form of apology from him.
In the October 13th episode, Janelle expressed that following the end of the COVID-related concerns, our family was unable to reconcile. This was largely due to Kody feeling that his sons should apologize, particularly to Robyn, for some past actions. After this issue escalated, she felt they simply needed to have a conversation with her.
According to Janelle, Kody’s problem was that he felt his children hadn’t been faithful to him, and in her words, “the most cherished member of our family who’s poured their heart and soul has been disregarded or some nonsense like that.” She concluded, “Well, Kody, whatever. Yeah, whatever.
Gabriel expressed a comparable viewpoint, narrating a discussion with his father. “He repeatedly suggested that an apology was owed from me,” he explained to Janelle. “In the end, I simply said, ‘Hey, unless you’re genuinely prepared to mend our relationship and make amends, we won’t talk anymore.’ A few days later, he texted me back. He wrote, ‘Hey, I’ve been considering your words. I forgive you, Please forgive me.’ I responded, ‘Forgive me for what?’
Among the six children Kody has with Janelle, it’s only Savanah he regularly interacts with. While it’s not often, every couple of months he calls her and they spend time together. The other children don’t seem to maintain a significant bond with him. (Janelle mentioned this in the episode that aired on Oct 13.)
Concerning Savannah, who completed high school in 2023, she believes her four elder brothers have assumed a paternal role in her life. Already, Savannah has shared with Janelle that she might ask her siblings to escort her during her wedding ceremony someday.
Janelle shared, “I’ve had a conversation with Savanah on the topic, and she expressed, ‘Well, it seems I’ve understood that this is his nature.’ He’ll likely be the kind of father who joins us for fun times but then leaves. I can accept him as he is. It’s alright.
Janelle, however, is less forgiving.
She expressed her frustration with Kody, saying, “I’m really fed up with him,” due to a pattern she has observed. “In fact, many women I’ve collaborated with in the past have gone through divorce, only for the children’s father to disappear afterwards.
Initially, Gabriel found it particularly difficult due to the fact that Kody often invited Gabriel along on his business trips. As stated by Janelle, Kody had been a very involved father until more recent times.
Although Gabriel was puzzled about what might have upset his father, he stated during the Oct. 13 episode, “I told Dad that if he doesn’t change and can’t accept responsibility, then I simply won’t visit him anymore. And I’m completely content with that decision.
In her own words, she expressed that he finds comfort in the absence of his father in his life. Moreover, she wishes this for all of her children and believes they are gradually understanding this as well.
For his part, Kody also seems resigned to the situation.
He expressed his apologies for how Gabriel seems, adding that he has made several attempts to reach out to him but those efforts were not reciprocated. However, he wants to make clear that his lack of response was not due to a lack of effort on his part.
In late 2022, Meri was the one who ended her relationship with Kody by obtaining what their church refers to as a release due to feelings of abandonment, making her the last wife to depart from him.
On the October 13th broadcast, I observed that he dislikes that particular term because it gives him the impression that he didn’t leave me. Instead, I believe he chose to move on.
To be honest, she believes he paid little attention to her until she decided to depart, which allowed him to claim, “I have no involvement in this.
And Kody didn’t totally deny that he had a bit of a strategy.
He clarified in a private moment, “I moved on quite some time back, yet it’s hard to ignore the apprehension. You see, I was fearful of her reaction if I removed that metaphorical Band-Aid. It’s because Meri had never been faithful to me, and that’s always been a concern. Essentially, I’ve been concerned about my reputation since divorce can tarnish it.
Instead, alleged Meri, it was hers that was being tarnished.
I can’t help but feel disheartened by how Kody’s portraying our marriage these days. It’s as if his version of events has shifted, yet the stories he shares about me with others just don’t resonate as truthful to me and many who hear them.
Before Christina eventually parted ways with Kody, it became apparent that they were mismatched according to traditional standards, as suggested by a relationship and family therapy exercise conducted in their Las Vegas office.
Christine noted the characteristics she desired in a partner: a good communicator, someone who would be involved in her life and that of her children, and someone who was drawn to her.
