Cronos: The New Dawn Director on Potential Sequels – “We Have Plans for Cronos”

As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for survival horror games that send chills down my spine, I can hardly contain my excitement upon hearing that Bloober Team has not only one but multiple projects brewing in their creative cauldron. The tantalizing tease of Cronos: The New Dawn, a sci-fi survival horror title with ambitions to become a franchise, has me eagerly awaiting next year’s release on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Following the intense excitement surrounding Silent Hill 2, there’s been much speculation about whether Bloober Team will develop more Silent Hill games down the line. However, with their recent unveiling of Cronos: The New Dawn, a sci-fi survival horror game, it appears that Bloober has other projects simmering as well. Intriguingly, not only is Cronos an ambitious endeavor for the studio, but they also seem to have long-term plans for making it into a series in the future.

During an interview with IGN, director and designer Wojciech Piejko hinted that continuing the Cronos intellectual property (IP) beyond its upcoming release is a significant aspect of Bloober Team’s long-term strategy.

“Definitely, definitely, definitely. Yeah, we’ve got plans for Cronos,” he said.

During the same interview, Piejko and fellow director Jacek Zieba shared some of the main inspirations for “Cronos: The New Dawn,” naming games like “Dead Space,” “Resident Evil,” and “Alan Wake.” You can learn more about this inspiration here.

Cronos: The New Dawn is due out next year for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
