Phasmophobia Targets 4K/60 FPS on Consoles, Has a 120 FPS Mode on Xbox Series X

As a seasoned Ghost Hunter who’s spent countless nights chasing spectral entities across digital landscapes, I must say, the technical specifications for Phasmophobia‘s console release have me positively giddy with anticipation! The promise of 4K/60FPS on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, a 120FPS option on the mighty Xbox Series X, and a native resolution of 2000×2400 per eye on PlayStation VR2 is nothing short of spine-tingling!

As a fervent admirer, I can’t contain my excitement as Phasmophobia’s console release is almost within our grasp after numerous postponements! In anticipation of its debut on fresh platforms, the masterminds at Kinetic Games have unveiled the technical goals they aim to achieve across all consoles for this co-op horror gem.

On the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles, there are two play modes: one aiming for 4K resolution at 60 frames per second (FPS), while the other mode, Performance Mode, likely uses a lower native resolution to achieve this frame rate. Notably, the Xbox Series X offers an additional option of 120 FPS, which is not supported by the PS5.

On the Xbox Series S, the game Phasmophobia will operate at 1080p with a steady frame rate of 60 FPS; there are no other graphics options to choose from. In contrast, on the PlayStation VR2, the game will display natively in a resolution of 2000×2400 per eye, refreshing at 60Hz and boasting a reprojection rate of 120Hz.

Currently, the game Phasmophobia can be played on personal computers. It will also be released for consoles on October 29th. Since it was launched in early access in 2020, Kinetic Games reported that more than 20 million copies of the game have been sold.
