As a gamer who has been around since the days of the NES, I have witnessed the highs and lows of Nintendo’s console releases. The Wii U was undoubtedly one of those low points, but it did manage to gift us with some truly exceptional games like Xenoblade Chronicles X. If you were a Nintendo fan stuck in 2015 while everyone else was busy with Bloodborne, The Witcher 3, and Fallout 4, you could find solace in the vast, open-world adventure of Xenoblade Chronicles X.

A popular game from the Wii U platform could soon receive an upgrade, but it’s important to remember that the Wii U was a significant low point for Nintendo. Not only did it have the lowest sales of any Nintendo console to date, but it also resulted in substantial financial losses for the company. The Wii U wasn’t just a low point; it was as bad as it gets. However, what came after was its high point, which makes the Wii U even more intriguing because it sits between Nintendo’s second best-selling console, the Wii, and their most successful console, the Nintendo Switch.

Although the Wii U didn’t achieve commercial success, it boasted some exceptional software. Regardless of being the least impressive game library among all Nintendo systems, it still managed to produce remarkable titles during what appeared to be a downturn in Nintendo’s performance.

2015 saw a standout Wii U game emerge among popular RPGs like Bloodborne, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and Fallout 4. For those on Wii U, however, their attention was focused on Xenoblade Chronicles X, which is the second installment in the Xenoblade Chronicles series that started during the Wii era and carries on into the current Nintendo Switch generation.

In approximately nine years, a source close to Nintendo could potentially be hinting at its comeback. On social media platform X, user Samus Hunter has dropped hints that there will still be numerous games for the Nintendo Switch before it, which some say may launch in 2025.

When prompted for details, the source playfully hinted that application X might be playing coy itself. Given the presence of “X” in the title of Xenoblade Chronicles X and its development under the code name X, it appears a remaster of Xenoblade Chronicles X on Nintendo Switch is the strongest possibility.

While it’s intriguing, it’s best to approach this news with caution since the source has been accurate at times but also incorrect on many occasions. At present, we can’t tell whether this recent speculation is true or not.

Currently, Nintendo has yet to address or provide a statement regarding these rumors and speculations about the topic. Given Nintendo’s history of not commenting on such matters, we anticipate that their stance won’t change. However, should they decide to speak out, we will promptly update our story accordingly.
