Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s Steam Peak Concurrent User Count Surpasses Modern Warfare 2 and 3 at Launch

As a seasoned gamer with decades of gaming under my belt, I must say that the latest addition to the Call of Duty franchise, Black Ops 6, has truly outdone itself. Having played every single installment since its inception, I can confidently say that this game has set new standards in terms of player engagement and concurrent user count.

As one of the most prominent gaming series around today, Call of Duty consistently draws in a substantial number of gamers. While there has been some player criticism on Steam since the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 last week, it too appears to be capturing a significant audience, with numbers even comparing favorably to those of its predecessors.

According to SteamDB, the number of simultaneous players for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 exceeded 306,000 during its debut weekend. This figure surpasses the peaks reached by both of its immediate predecessors upon release. Specifically, the 2022 version of Modern Warfare 2 had a peak of approximately 263,000 concurrent players, and Modern Warfare 3 from last year peaked at around 190,000 players.

It’s noteworthy that Black Ops 6 is now playable through PC Game Pass for the first time. This might indicate that the game is experiencing significant popularity across various platforms too.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is available on PC, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, Xbox One, and PS4.
