As a stoma patient myself, I can empathize deeply with Bethany’s struggles. It’s not easy to accept and adapt to such changes, but what makes us strong is how we deal with them. It’s heartbreaking to see Bethany’s embarrassment, but it’s also inspiring to see her bravery in facing challenges head-on. I applaud ITV for taking on this sensitive storyline and working with Colostomy UK to provide accurate representation and support. Remember, a stoma bag is just a small part of us, not our defining feature.
Next week, DS Lisa Swain, played by Vicky Myers, will be questioned by her junior colleague Kit Green, portrayed by Jacob Roberts. However, things take an unexpected turn when Dee-Dee Bailey, acted by Channique Sterling-Brown, stuns her father Ed, played by Trevor Michael Georges, with a surprising revelation.
As Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) continues to struggle following the loss of his partner Paul Foreman (Peter Ash), will there be enough time for him to find salvation?
In simpler terms, Bethany Platt (played by Lucy Fallon) is disheartened due to a fresh hurdle as she adapts to her daily existence with a permanent stoma. Meanwhile, her uncle David (Jack P Shepherd) is taken aback by an unanticipated communication.
Finally, Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) steps in to help troubled teen Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toolan).
Here are all your Coronation Street spoilers from 4th – 8th November 2024.
6 Coronation Street spoilers next week
1. DC Kit Green confronts DS Lisa Swain
Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) is helping Kit pack when she notices an empty whiskey bottle.
In turn, Ryan Connor confided in me that Kit had been digging details about my preferences, which made it clear to me that I can’t rely on his trustworthiness.
In a direct encounter, Kit admits to Daisy that he consumed excessive alcohol following Paul’s funeral. However, it’s not just Kit under suspicion, as Lisa is called to the police station for questioning.
Kit informs Lisa that they discovered a draft message on her phone, implying that she had wished for the demise of Joel Deering (Calum Lill).
Kit demands to know where Lisa was the night of Joel’s murder. What will Lisa have to say?
2. Dee-Dee Bailey makes murder confession to dad Ed
Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) appreciates Roy Cropper’s (David Neilson) kind gesture of buying a pram for baby Frankie, yet when she seeks Dee-Dee’s assistance in selecting one, Dee-Dee is less than helpful.
Throughout the week, Dee-Dee reaches her breaking point and admits to Ed that she murdered Joel once she learned he intended to flee.
When Dee-Dee announces her intention to surrender to the police, Ed expresses shock, and attempts to dissuade his daughter from following through with this decision.
Is it likely that Dee-Dee will confess – and is she truly the one responsible for this incident? Given the way Coronation Street handles storylines, we suspect the truth may not be revealed through official spoilers, but rather as an unexpected plot twist in an upcoming episode.
3. Will Billy Mayhew die as he passes out drunk in the cold?
Harriet Bibby’s character, Summer Spellman, comes back home to discover an unfamiliar individual in her apartment, and it turns out that Billy had invited Wayne over following their encounter at the support group for addicts.
On the next day, a downcast Billy confides in Summer that he doubts he has the strength to attend the scheduled day’s event – the space launch of Paul’s remains, arranged by his mother Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove).
Before leaving for The Rovers, Billy swiftly downs a shot of whiskey. However, the scene shifts as Paul’s ashes are scattered, only for the screen to abruptly cut off, revealing that Billy had disconnected the laptop’s power cord.
In a state of intoxication and strong emotions, Billy openly declared the entire situation as a sham and admitted that he had attempted to make advances towards Todd Grimshaw following Paul’s funeral.
In the harsh winter chill, Billy stood by the factory, listening to voice messages from Paul on his phone until it ran out of power. After that, he closed his eyes, slipping into a state of drunken unconsciousness.
With each passing moment, our worries intensify as Bernie sets off to locate her son-in-law. Upon finding him, it’s evident he’s lost warmth – but can she save him before it’s too late?
4. Bethany Platt suffers a new stoma setback
In simpler terms, during a hospital visit with Bethany (character played by Rob Mallard as Daniel Osbourne), it’s found out that she seldom goes out, prompting the nurse to suggest a support group specifically tailored for people with stomas.
Later, I decide to muster up some courage and accompany Daniel to the pub for Paul’s space launch. However, my heart sinks when I realize that my stoma bag has sprung a leak. In haste, I excuse myself and leave.
After their disagreement, Bethany and Daniel reconcile with a tender kiss, yet Bethany confesses that she isn’t prepared for further commitments because she’s embarrassed that he witnessed her stoma bag.
Of course, the aim is for Bethany to embrace herself just as she is, and the ITV soap opera is collaborating with renowned charity Colostomy UK in developing this storyline.
For those touched by Bethany’s narrative, assistance and support are available at Colostomy UK. Additionally, you can reach them anytime through their 24-hour hotline at 0800 328 4257.
5. David Platt is shocked by a prison message
David extends an invitation for Lauren and Frankie to reside with him once they’ve completed their time in foster care. However, it doesn’t take much time before David is drawn away by an astonishing message he receives from Weatherfield Penitentiary Services.
He reaches for a letter in his back pocket but covers when his wife Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) walks in.
David expresses his disapproval towards Gail Rodwell’s (Helen Worth) plan to sell the house to Carla Connor (Alison King), but behind closed doors, he surreptitiously accesses Shona’s laptop while she sleeps and removes all her emails from Weatherfield prison. Will Shona discover this secret activity?
6. Tim Metcalfe offers help to troubled Mason Radcliffe
Tim and his wife, Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor), discover scattered food crumbs in the kitchen, leading them to believe there might be a rodent, specifically a mouse, in their home. Later on, Tim expresses his suspicion that these unwelcome guests could potentially be residing in their garden shed as well.
Sally and Tim stumble upon a backpack and come to understand that someone has been residing within the shed, while Mason observes from afar as Tim carries the backpack towards Street Cars.
In a tricky situation where he was found attempting to take someone’s bag, Mason was compelled to disclose the circumstances leading him to homelessness. Despite being unable to provide Mason with a place for the night, Tim reluctantly allowed Mason to stay at his house and sleep on the couch, but under the condition that Sally remains unaware of this arrangement.
Will Sally discover an unwanted guest?
