Emmerdale star Daisy Campbell reveals Amelia Spencer has been axed after 13 years

As a long-time Emmerdale enthusiast with a penchant for soap operas that span decades, I can’t help but feel a pang of nostalgia as Daisy Campbell, the talented actress who brought Amelia Spencer to life, bids farewell after 13 years.

Emmerdale star Daisy Campbell has revealed that she’s been axed from the ITV soap after 13 years.

Campbell, who landed the role of Amelia Spencer in 2011 and has since been part of several intense storylines such as a teenage pregnancy and discovering her biological father’s identity, recently shared with The Mirror that her last appearances will be broadcast near Christmas, hinting that the possibility remains for her to reappear in future episodes.

“It wasn’t my choice to leave Emmerdale and it was a shock at first,” she said.

According to Campbell, Emmerdale’s producers have shared with her that they currently lack ideas for Amelia’s storylines.

After they clarified the situation, it became completely clear to her. It’s understood that Amelia isn’t related to the Dingles, as her father is no longer around and Samson has departed too. She doesn’t have any family left, which means there’s nowhere suitable for Amelia to go. I empathize with that predicament.

As a fortunate soul, I’ve had the privilege of being part of this captivating soap opera for an incredible thirteen years. It’s breathtaking to reflect on the countless chances that have come my way at just a tender age.

The news breaks that Spencer is leaving, following closely on the heels of his romantic entanglement with Tom King, who was previously accused of mistreating Belle Dingle.

Spencer teased that her departure will be connected to her on-screen relationship with Tom.

Coming up next week on Emmerdale, Amelia might get a glimpse of Tom’s real personality when they have an argument near the village bonfire. During this dispute, it is likely that Tom will express his frustration towards Amelia in an aggressive manner.

Meanwhile, Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) and Ross Barton (Michael Parr) encounter ominous dangers posed by unlawful fight organizer Jade (Twinnie Lee Moore), as Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) finds himself unwillingly entangled in the situation.

Emmerdale airs Monday to Friday at 7:30pm on ITV1. Stream on ITVX.
