Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition Launches March 20th, 2025 for Nintendo Switch

After decades of waiting and countless prayers to the gods of pixels, it seems our wishes have been granted – Xenoblade Chronicles X is finally making its way onto the Nintendo Switch! As someone who’s spent a lifetime lost in the vast realms of JRPGs, I can hardly contain my excitement for this glorious day.

After years of eager anticipation, it’s official now – Xenoblade Chronicles X is making its way to the Nintendo Switch! The Definitive Edition of this highly anticipated game is set to debut on March 20th, 2025. Take a sneak peek at the first trailer below.

First released back in 2015 for the Nintendo Wii U, the game Xenoblade Chronicles X is set in a future scenario where a human spaceship, known as the White Whale, crash-lands on a planet called Mira. In this role-playing adventure, players assume the role of a member of BLADE, tasked with finding survivors and completing missions for the citizens of New Los Angeles. However, it’s not going to be a walk in the park, as dangerous creatures like the Tyrants inhabit the planet and pose significant threats.

Unlike previous Xenoblade Chronicles games, this one allows you to craft a personal character. You’ll have various roles to assume, such as the Pathfinder, tasked with unearthing new destinations, or the Reclaimers, whose duty is to scavenge resources from the remains of the White Whale. Additionally, you can operate mech-like machines similar to those seen in Xenogears, called Skells. Some of these Skells even transform into vehicles.

Though Monolith Soft hasn’t detailed every fresh feature in the upcoming Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition, they assure us of improved graphics and additional narrative aspects. Keep an eye out for more details as we approach the release date in the following months.
