Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana Launches January 7th, 2025 in the West

As a seasoned gamer with decades of gaming under my belt, I must say, the announcement of Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana is music to my ears! Back in 2005 when I first played this gem on PC, little did I know that it would become one of my all-time favorites. To see it getting a remaster with new accessibility options, high-definition visuals, and even a Turbo mode for faster exploration is nothing short of delightful.

In a recent announcement, both Marvelous Europe and XSEED Games have disclosed that the game Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana is scheduled to debut on January 7th, 2025, across North America and Europe. Players can look forward to playing it on PS5, PS4, and Nintendo Switch. Take a peek at the trailer below for a sneak peek of what’s to come.

The game title has been updated or enhanced from “Ys: The Oath in Felghana,” a reinterpretation of “Ys 3: Wanderers of Ys.” Initially launched on PC in Japan in 2005, it later appeared on PlayStation Portable in 2010. It eventually saw release in the Western markets as well. The new version, titled “Ys Memoire,” preserves the original gameplay while offering additional accessibility features, updated character artwork during dialogues (with the original art still accessible), and high-definition graphics.

The main character, Adol Christin, now has a fresh voiceover. Moreover, battles come with different levels of difficulty, as well as a Turbo mode for swift traversal. Fans who appreciated the music (the original PC-8801 and X6800 versions, plus the remakes) can enjoy it in superior audio quality.

As a gamer, I’m thrilled to share that the physical copies of the Refined Edition will also be available for the PS5 and Nintendo Switch, alongside its digital version. You can grab one for yourself for just $59.99. For more information, check it out here.
