As I delve into Kelly Osbourne‘s journey, I can’t help but feel a profound sense of empathy for her struggles and triumphs. Her candidness about her post-pregnancy weight loss journey, battling addiction, and navigating relationships is truly commendable.

Kelly Osbourne‘s son introduced her to a new level of love.

The child of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, who goes by the name Sidney, is credited with having potentially saved her mother’s life at 23 months old, as she shares this young one with her partner, Sid Wilson.

In an interview with Us Weekly on October 30, she expressed that she firmly feels her child rescued her and transformed her into a complete individual. She stated that prior to becoming a mother, she may not have fully comprehended the concept of love.

In the Osbournes Podcast, one of the hosts affectionately referred to Sidney as an “incredibly surprising infant” who had a profound impact on her, awakening something deep within.

Kelly expressed, “Everything feels so different now that I have the baby, it’s as if I never knew life before. The love I feel for my child is incredibly intense and almost irresistible, it’s the strongest emotion I’ve ever experienced.

I can’t help but express, in that fleeting moment, it struck me like a thunderbolt: ‘You’ve ignited a purpose within me that nothing else has managed before.’ Frankly, I hadn’t sensed purpose prior. I wandered aimlessly from one thing to another, and the deep-rooted self-loathing and self-doubt I harbored would often drag me down.

Previously a member of the Fashion Police team, who has openly discussed her battles with addiction, expressed her belief that she may not have been prepared to care for her child during certain phases of her life in the past.

Kelly pondered, “God wouldn’t have entrusted me with a baby at a time when I wasn’t psychologically or physically equipped for it. During the period when I was heavily consuming alcohol and using other substances, I wouldn’t have made a good mother. I lacked the selflessness required.

She added, “I’m so glad it happened when I was a little older and I had my s–t together.”

Factually speaking, Kelly, who celebrated her 40th birthday on October 27, had once harbored doubts about reaching this significant age.

At one point in my life, it seemed everyone around me was either dying or overdosing, a truly horrific situation. This experience led to survivor’s guilt as I found myself questioning why I had been spared. It wasn’t until I turned 33 that I realized I needed to focus on myself and my well-being, as I understood that it could easily have been me next.

The star further opened up about her experience with addiction.

Kelly, speaking candidly about her past struggles, expressed, “I always seemed to be burdened by the weight of my addiction wherever I went. It was a constant source of shame.” She continued, “When you’re in the throes of addiction, you feel like a failure. For me, it wasn’t about seeking pleasure through drugs; instead, it was an attempt to silence the pain and self-loathing. I couldn’t stand myself. I felt so out of place and undeserving of anything good that happened in my life.

Eventually, motherhood and reaching the age of 40 provide the So Undercover actress with chances to embark on a new beginning.

She expressed, “At forty, I have the chance to truly embrace who I am and let go of my past.” Essentially, it’s a fresh beginning for her.

Kelly Osbourne expressed her apprehension to TopMob News in September 2023, saying “It’s really nerve-wracking because you don’t want to mess up” when discussing the challenge of being a mom to her son, Sidney, with Slipknot DJ, Sid Wilson.

She pointed out that small errors and minor details are what we inevitably encounter while learning, since making mistakes is essential for the learning process. Unfortunately, it’s just a part of growing up, like with a young child.

Kelly learned about her gestational diabetes during her third trimester, which she shared with People in September 2022. She clarified that unlike some women who develop it from the start of their pregnancy, hers appeared late. She expressed her feelings as, “I thought it was something I had done incorrectly.

Her only pregnancy craving had been sugar, especially sweet drinks, Kelly explained, and even though she tried to temper it by drinking fresh-pressed juice, “it still had a lot more sugar than I needed.”

After intentionally altering her eating habits, she persisted, she experienced sugar-detox headaches temporarily but eventually shed 10 pounds, no longer needed compression stockings, and saw an improvement in her complexion.

Kelly mentioned, ‘If only I had this motivation earlier, as I’ve never been fully committed to anything like I am now, because my actions are not self-driven but for my child. However, I’ve discovered – I can hardly express the transformation it has brought about.’

What mom doesn’t look at her kid sometimes and marvel, Hey, look what I made?!

I find it hard to accept that I have a baby,” Kelly expressed during an interview on TODAY with Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager, just before celebrating her first Mother’s Day in May 2023.

She went on to say, “I’m blessed with a lovely young son, who is the very essence of my existence. He is why I wake up each day and breathe, the center of my world. Now, I truly grasp the true meaning of the term ‘purpose’.

In an Instagram post from February 2023, Kelly expressed a newfound appreciation for working mothers. Having recently returned to work after having a baby, she shared that leaving her child this morning was incredibly difficult. She eagerly looks forward to the end of the day so she can be reunited with him again.

The following day, she managed to solve the issue: “Since I couldn’t abandon him once more, I took advantage of #BringYourKidToOfficeDay” was her Instagram Story post.

Just because she can wrangle some alone time, actually wanting it is another story.

Kelly shared with TopMob that her mother is encouraging her to lessen her attachment to the newborn, as she seems to focus on the baby for everything. Kelly explained, “I hardly do anything unless it involves my baby,” but her mother insists, “‘You need to take some time for yourself.'” However, despite her attempts at spending time apart from her baby, Kelly finds herself sneaking away to be with the child.

Instead of openly displaying her pregnancy journey on social media like some celebrities do, showing off their bare bellies until the due date, Kelly chose to be more reserved, hesitant about sharing every detail with millions of people (having initially announced her pregnancy by sharing a few ultrasound images).

In response to an Instagram commenter asking about the birth of her child Sidney in August, she said, “There are no photos of me while I was pregnant, as I chose to keep a low profile during those nine months to avoid being subjected to body shaming.

Additionally, she found herself subconsciously measuring herself against women who confidently displayed their pregnant figures in public.

In her interview on the Hollywood Raw podcast with Dax Holt and Adam Glyn, Kelly expressed that Rihanna has revolutionized fashion norms by making previously inappropriate clothing acceptable for everyone. Additionally, she shared a sentiment of sadness because during her pregnancy, she felt self-conscious about her body, which she described as large and embarrassing, preventing her from proudly displaying her baby bump.

Kelly admittedly wanted to get back into fighting shape as soon as possible after Sidney was born.

In September 2023, she confided in TopMob that, following the birth of her child, she felt a strong pressure to shed the extra weight gained from pregnancy. This became a personal quest for her, as she became fixated on it due to not wanting to discuss it further and just being allowed privacy.

She found the process quite challenging, but ultimately satisfying, as she reflected, “I felt constantly famished throughout, yet I’m overjoyed with the outcome.

However, at one point she decided she was overdoing it.

She said to Scheana Shay on her September 8th podcast episode, “After shedding all the baby weight, I thought ‘I wonder how much more I can push myself.’ However, it seems I may have overdone it.

Previously open about struggles during her recovery journey, Kelly celebrated one year of sobriety on May 27, 2022, just a few weeks following the announcement of her pregnancy.

1 year ago, if someone had told me I’d be clean, joyful, and on the verge of motherhood, I would have thought they were joking! But here I am, living proof that life can surprise us when we put in the effort. A heartfelt thank you to every single one of you who has stood by my side throughout this incredible journey. You mean the world to me! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

In a significant revelation in February 2024, Kelly disclosed that, referring to the most intense argument she and her child’s father had ever experienced, and likely will have, they decided to bestow their child with a surname consisting of two family names, creating a double-barreled last name.

She expressed on the “Osbournes Podcast” that she desired their son to bear both of their surnames, but he resisted her wishes. This led to a significant argument. In the end, she felt compelled to comply with something she wasn’t comfortable doing.

After several enlightening discussions and a stint in couples counseling, it turns out that my partner has had a change of heart. We plan to officially update our son’s name to include both our surnames through legal means.
