Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is Call of Duty’s Biggest Ever Launch

As a seasoned gamer who’s been through the trenches of countless FPS titles, I can confidently say that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has certainly made its mark. The sheer magnitude of its launch performance is nothing short of impressive, outshining even the legendary Modern Warfare 3.

Last week saw the debut of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, and as expected, it’s had an explosive start in the world of first-person shooters. In Microsoft’s latest earnings call, CEO Satya Nadella announced that this latest installment in the Call of Duty series has set a new record for the largest launch ever for any game within the franchise.

During his discussion, Nadella did not delve into the specific sales figures for the game’s debut, but he did verify that at launch, it outperformed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 from last year by a substantial 60% on both PlayStation and Steam. Additionally, Black Ops 6 made history by attracting a record number of new Game Pass subscribers on the day of its release.

Nadella stated (via VGC) that the recent debut of Black Ops 6 marked the largest release in the Call of Duty series yet, breaking records for both day one players and Game Pass subscribers on launch day. Additionally, sales on PlayStation and Steam increased by more than 60% compared to last year. This highlights our approach of catering to gamers by offering them the opportunity to play a wider variety of games across the devices they frequently use.

On November 1, new maps and gameplay modes are scheduled to debut in Black Ops 6. Later in the same month, both the shooter game and Call of Duty: Warzone will launch Season 1.

As an ardent gamer, I’ve had the chance to dive into the latest installment of the Call of Duty franchise – Black Ops 6. While it didn’t quite reach the pinnacle of past achievements or revolutionize the genre, it certainly offers a largely engaging experience. The Campaign and Zombies maps are a blast to play, but the multiplayer aspect could use a bit more polishing. Compared to last year’s release, this game represents a significant leap forward.
