As a seasoned comic book enthusiast with a lifetime of memories etched into my mind like the pages of a well-read graphic novel, I find myself both thrilled and perplexed by the latest developments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Marvel Studios is setting its sights on 2025 and has unveiled a preview of the upcoming films and series that will stream on Disney+. In November, fans can look forward to the debut of Deadpool & Wolverine, followed by the third season of What If…? on December 22nd. Starting January 29th, there’s Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, Daredevil: Born Again on March 4th, Ironheart on June 24th, Eyes of Wakanda on August 6th, Marvel Zombies in October 2025, and Wonder Man in December 2025.
This year for Marvel Studios has been relatively quiet, with only a few releases compared to previous years. In January, they put out “Echo”, followed by “X-Men ’97” from Marvel Animation in March, and “Agatha All Along” from Marvel Television in September. The only Marvel Cinematic Universe film for the year was “Deadpool & Wolverine”, which is a rarity as it’s been since 2012 when Marvel only released “The Avengers”.

In this just under two-minute clip, previously unseen footage is featured, which until now had been hidden or exclusively shown to attendees at Disney’s D23 event in August. This sneak peek offers a first glimpse of Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams (also known as Wonder Man), Anthony Ramos as the enigmatic supervillain The Hood, Charlie Cox’s updated Daredevil costume, and many other exciting elements. We’ve compiled all the major disclosures from the Disney+ teaser for your convenience below.
Simon Williams, Wonder Man
In the scene, Abdul-Mateen II dons a crimson blazer and eyeglasses with tinted red lenses, subtly echoing his comics equivalent known for his regular attire of a red coat and sunglasses concealing his fiery red eyes.
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man
In this Marvel Animation series, you’ll find Spider-Man, portrayed by Hudson Thames, navigating his freshman year as a novice crime-fighter. The show is the brainchild of Jeff Trammel, also known for producing ‘Amphibia’, ‘The Owl House’, and ‘Craig of the Creek’. He serves alongside Kevin Feige from ‘X-Men ’97’ and Brad Winderbaum from ‘What If…?’ as executive producers.
White Tiger, Hidden Gad
Take a close look at the TVA monitors, and you’ll notice that actor Josh Gad from “Frozen” appears briefly in a clip from “Wonder Man”, while street-level vigilante White Tiger (played by Kamar de los Reyes) is glimpsed in a sneak peek of “Daredevil: Born Again”.
Yusuf Khan’s Marvel Return
Identify the man who inquires about Matt Murdock’s profession, “What type of lawyer are you?” That is Yusuf Khan, played by Mohan Kapur, who is well-known for his role as Kamala Khan’s (Iman Vellani) father and will reappear in both Ms. Marvel and The Marvels.
Daredevil Villain Muse
The mutated Muse is a sadistic superhuman serial killer whose victims are his “art” — and New York City is his canvas.
Mayor Wilson Fisk
The upcoming revival of Daredevil is influenced by the Mayor Fisk story arc in Chip Zdarsky and Marco Checchetto’s series, as well as the “Devil’s Reign” saga where Kingpin, as mayor, criminalized vigilantism; effectively outlawing characters like Daredevil, Spider-Man, Luke Cage, and other street-level superheroes. The storyline also draws from Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli’s “Born Again” storyline from 1986’s issues #227–231 of Daredevil, in which Fisk wreaked havoc on Matt Murdock’s life after discovering his true identity.
The Punisher Reloaded
As I step back into the gritty world of crime-ridden streets, it’s none other than me, Jon Bernthal, once again assuming the mantle of Frank Castle, aka the Punisher. This relentless vigilante wages a one-man war against the vile forces that took my beloved family. You might remember me from Daredevil season 2 or The Punisher season 2, which dropped in 2019. One mission, two mission, redemption’s the mission…
Daredevil vs. Bullseye, Round 2
In a subsequent skirmish, the enigmatic adversary squaring off against Daredevil resembles Benjamin “Dex” Poindexter (played by Wilson Bethel), a figure infamous as the deadly marksman Bullseye. His attire reflects the contemporary style of Bullseye’s costume, as depicted in recent comics.
Daredevil’s New Costume
In a recent update, the character known as the Red-horned champion from Hell’s Kitchen has gone through another redesign following appearances in “She-Hulk: Lawyer” and “Echo”. The latest costume for Daredevil features bold crimson red with black accents, yet there’s still no trace of the classic “DD” emblem on his chest.
Ironheart 2.0
Discussing Riri Williams’ new suits: The remarkable inventor, Riri Williams (played by Dominique Thorne), will be seen wearing the Ironheart Mark III armor in her Disney+ series. Riri constructed her DIY Mark I suit of armor prior to Shuri (Letitia Wright) providing her with the means to build a superior one – the vibranium-constructed Mark II – in the 2022 film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
The Hood
Actor Anthony Ramos, known for ‘Hamilton’ and ‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts’, is debuting as Parker Robbins, also recognized as the sinister supervillain called the Hood. In the comics, he started out as a normal criminal who escalated into an Avengers-level menace after acquiring a magical cloak belonging to a demon empowered by Dormammu, the Dark Dimension’s ruler and nemesis of Doctor Strange. Apart from his mystical abilities, the Hood wields a pair of pistols that discharge enchanted bullets.
Alden Ehrenreich as [Spoiler] 2.0?
The trailer introduces Alden Ehrenreich (Solo: A Star Wars Story, Oppenheimer) as Joe McGillicuddy, a character who doesn’t have a counterpart in the comics. However, it’s been rumored that Ehrenreich has been cast as — spoiler warning — Ezekiel “Zeke” Stane, the terrorist son of Jeff Bridges’ Iron Man villain Obadiah Stane: the original Iron Monger.
What If…? Season 3
Fresh scenes from the animated anthology series reveal characters Shang-Chi (Simu Liu as cowboy), Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) back together, alongside a mechanical Captain America. This seems to hint at an episode drawing inspiration from the five-issue series “Avengers Mech Strike,” in which the Earth-21443 version of Steve Rogers piloted a star-studded mech suit.
Marvel Zombies
The creators of the show “What If…?” are responsible for the series “Marvel Zombies”. This four-episode event carries a TV-MA rating due to its graphic depictions of violence, gore, and bloodshed. In the first season’s episode titled “What If… Zombies?”, we saw zombified characters like Iron Man, Captain America, Scarlet Witch, and other undead superheroes from Earth.
Trevor Slattery’s Third Act
In a fictional setting similar to Hollywood, the character Wonder Man shares screen time with actor Trevor Slattery (portrayed by Ben Kingsley). Previously, Slattery assumed the role of the Mandarin in Iron Man 3 (2013) and was subsequently kidnapped by the Ten Rings, an event depicted in the 2014 short film All Hail the King. Post his return in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021), Trevor Slattery is set to reappear once more in the upcoming series directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who was behind the camera for the Shang-Chi film.
Eyes of Wakanda
The trailer only offers a glimpse at the four-part animated Black Panther spinoff series, which “will explore Wakandan history through tales of the brave warriors who traveled the world to collect vibranium artifacts.”
