Marvel’s Wolverine Reportedly Has New Directors in Charge

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I must say that the news about Marvel’s Wolverine doesn’t faze me too much. Changes in leadership are common in the game development industry and often bring fresh perspectives and new ideas to the table.

Three years since its initial reveal, there’s still much we don’t know about Marvel’s Wolverine, and it appears that the development team has undergone some notable shifts in leadership. As per Game File reports, the game is without its creative director, Brian Horton, who has departed from Insomniac Games to assume the role of creative director for Perfect Dark at The Initiative.

Fans of Insomniac will recognize that Marcus Smith is stepping into Horton’s role for Marvel’s Wolverine. Meanwhile, Mike Daly has taken on the position of game director for this project. Notably, both Smith and Daly were directors for Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, with Smith also having co-directed Sunset Overdrive in the past.

Currently, Cameron Christian, who used to oversee the project, remains at Insomniac Games but now holds a different position. It’s been reported that a fresh directorial team has taken charge, likely due to changes in creative direction for the game. However, there is no recent information available regarding the current state of the project.

It’s been confirmed that the character from Marvel, Wolverine, is being developed for PlayStation 5. However, although leaks suggest a 2026 release date, there hasn’t been any officially announced launch period yet.
