As a seasoned gamer who has seen countless wrestling matches and stories unfold over the years, I must say that the upcoming return of Kenny Omega is nothing short of exhilarating! With his recent training sessions hinting at a potential comeback, the anticipation for his ring return is palpable.

It’s been announced that Kenny Omega, who was previously the AEW World Champion and has been sidelined due to Diverticulitis since December 2023, is expected to make an appearance at New Japan Pro Wrestling’s upcoming Power Struggle event in November. Interestingly, this marks Omega’s return to Japanese wrestling since the New Year’s Dash event in January of 2023. Recent sightings of “The Best Bout Machine” training have raised speculation that his comeback performance might be imminent.

As a gamer, I took quite the pounding at the hands of my ex-stablesmates, the Young Bucks, in my last show on AEW television. Even though I was injured, I leveraged my EVP powers to arrange a match for AEW Double or Nothing back in May.

It appears that the groundwork has been laid for his comeback, and he himself has made public comments addressing Matthew and Nicholas Jackson, as well as Hiroshi Tanahashi – one of Omega’s most formidable opponents. This esteemed duo have announced their intention to be present at Wrestle Dynasty, a massive joint pay-per-view event featuring AEW, NJPW, CMLL, ROH, and STARDOM.

As a devoted fan, I’m confidently speculating that when he makes his comeback to American wrestling, a final showdown with Kazuchika Okada is highly anticipated. Although they’ve delivered epic matches in Japan, this U.S. bout, especially within AEW, has yet to happen. It would undeniably be a blockbuster event.

In an interview with New Japan Pro Wrestling, Omega pondered over his anticipated comeback to wrestling, expressing confidence in his ability to continue thriving at the top when the time arrives. “Carrying the immense burden of my role within that company [AEW], I encountered someone [Okada] who drained me completely,” Omega shared. “He took everything; it required every last ounce of my energy to finally clinch a significant title in this organization, and he’s coming here with nothing but wrestling on his mind. That man appeared like a beast to me, and honestly, I was terrified. I can’t claim otherwise, I was petrified at the prospect of facing him as the current Kenny Omega.

Perhaps by stepping down as an EVP due to being put out by The Young Bucks, and using this opportunity to rejuvenate myself as the wrestler I know I can be, I feel like old ghosts from my past and skeletons in my closet have resurfaced on this stage. Although my illness has set me back nearly a year, it may have been a hidden blessing because it allowed me to view things differently and prioritize what truly matters. When I return, I hope to do so with a clear mind and potentially regain my top-performer status again.
