Metal Gear Series Sells 62.1 Million Units

As a seasoned gamer who’s been part of the Metal Gear Solid (MGS) community since the early days, witnessing this resurgence brings a sense of nostalgic excitement that’s hard to put into words. The series has always held a special place in my gaming heart, and seeing it continue to thrive with such impressive sales figures is nothing short of heartening.

The Metal Gear series is gradually making a return, although it hasn’t fully come back quite yet. However, the series continues to enjoy consistent sales, according to recent sales data released by Konami on their official company website.

According to Konami’s latest report, by the end of September, a total of 62.1 million units of the Metal Gear series have been sold worldwide. Compared to last August when sales were at 60 million units, this indicates an increase of approximately 2.1 million units in sales since then. It’s reasonable to think that a significant portion of these new sales might be attributed to the launch of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, which came out in October the previous year.

Fans of Metal Gear are eagerly anticipating the remake of MGS3, titled “Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater,” which is currently in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. However, a release date has yet to be announced. Furthermore, it appears that Konami may also be working on another “Master Collection.” For more information, check out the link provided.
