As a long-time Marvel fan who has followed the Maximoff twins since their comic book debut, I must say that “Agatha All Along” has truly been a delightful surprise! The anticipation for Wiccan’s appearance was palpable, and Joe Locke did not disappoint. His entrance in Episode 7 was nothing short of spectacular, and it was a testament to the Marvel Studios costume team’s attention to detail that they managed to bring the iconic Wiccan costume to life so beautifully.
In a somewhat unexpected turn (a nod to Mephisto!), Agatha All Along might not have met every expectation, but it undeniably provided a long-anticipated treat for Marvel Cinematic Universe enthusiasts: the appearance of Wiccan. Ever since Joe Locke was announced as “Teen” in Agatha All Along, fans had been placing their bets on the return of Scarlet Witch’s son Billy Maximoff from WandaVision, now transformed into the powerful, adult version of the enigmatic hero, Wiccan. The series kept us guessing until the final episodes, but when the time came, it was more than worth the wait for Wiccan fans.
WARNING: SPOILERS FOLLOW!
In Episode 7 of Agatha All Along, Billy, portrayed by Joe Locke, made an impressive debut as Wiccan. He stepped in during Agatha’s fight with Death (played by Aubrey Plaza), managing to momentarily save her life. Fans can’t get enough of this scene, and it effectively established Wiccan as a powerful new mystical figure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Wiccan’s MCU Costume Explained
In the images, it’s clear that Marvel Studios’ costume designers have once again nailed the transformation of a comic book costume into live-action. While some adjustments were necessary for practicality, such as altering the materials and textures of the costume and its components (like the headband or crown), all the essential elements remain. Notable features include the shoulder cloak-and-hood piece with the buckle clasp, the black leather-like pants, shirt, and boots, and a belt reminiscent of the comic book version. The headband has been slightly altered from the rune-inscribed metallic piece in the comics, but this change is a nod to the MCU’s legacy of Wanda Maximoff, as she fully unleashed her powers as the Scarlet Witch in the final episodes of WandaVision.
What Is Wiccan’s MCU Future?
In the climactic episode of “Agatha All Along,” Wiccan was assigned his initial mission within the Marvel Cinematic Universe: tracking down his resurrected twin brother, Tommy Maximoff, who now inhabits a new body. Upon locating Tommy, the brothers Scarlet Witch’s sons might embark on a quest to restore their mother (who met her end in “Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness”), just as they did in the classic Marvel Comics storyline “Children’s Crusade.

Well, you know, me and Tommy didn’t just set off on our own to find Wanda; we had the support of our fellow Young Avengers comrades. It seems that locating Tommy might just be the missing piece to fully assemble the initial lineup of the Young Avengers. So, it looks like team-building could be my next mission as Wiccan.
