As a dedicated PlayStation enthusiast who has spent countless hours immersed in the vibrant worlds of LittleBigPlanet, it’s with a heavy heart that I write this piece. The impending removal of LittleBigPlanet 3 from the digital storefront feels like losing an old friend, one who has provided me with endless creative opportunities and joyful memories over the years.
Time is running out for PlayStation gamers who want to own a Sony-produced PS4 title, as it’s set to vanish from digital shelves by the start of November. Occasionally, companies such as PlayStation, Xbox, Ubisoft, Electronic Arts, Activision, and others are compelled to withdraw their games due to various reasons. Although this isn’t a common occurrence, it’s always upsetting when it happens. This upcoming disappearance of a PlayStation game marks yet another instance where a favorite title will no longer be available for purchase.
If you didn’t catch the news earlier this month, Sony announced they will be pulling “LittleBigPlanet 3” from the PlayStation Store on October 31st. The folks at Sony haven’t provided a reason for its removal, but it appears to be due to persistent issues affecting the online features of “LBP 3”. Instead of addressing these ongoing problems, Sony has chosen to stop selling the game altogether.

10 years of joyfully crafting, expressing myself, and connecting with the amazing LittleBigPlanet 3 community has been an unforgettable journey. Just this month, PlayStation announced that on October 31, 2024, the game and all LittleBigPlanet DLC will no longer be available for purchase from the PlayStation Store. However, those of us who currently own or buy LittleBigPlanet 3 or any LittleBigPlanet DLC before it’s delisted can continue enjoying our games and content after its removal.
Great news! If you’re reading this close to when the article was published, you still have a chance to grab LittleBigPlanet 3 and its DLC from the PS Store. The game is currently available for $19.99, and most of its extra content is free! Since so much of the DLC is free, it’s worth adding it to your digital collection even if you don’t plan on buying LittleBigPlanet 3 digitally yourself. While physical copies of LittleBigPlanet 3 will continue to be available, allowing players on PS5 and PS4 to play the game, the additional content will disappear forever once the clock strikes midnight.
