As a cinephile with over three decades of film-watching under my belt, I must say that the latest glimpse into the upcoming Peaky Blinders film has me absolutely thrilled! Barry Keoghan, an actor whose performances have left lasting impressions on both small and big screens, is now joining the ranks of this iconic series.
At long last, we get a glimpse into what’s to come with the upcoming Peaky Blinders movie, and it shows Barry Keoghan taking on a mysterious new role.
Previously, we’ve seen a glimpse of returning character Cillian Murphy as Tommy Shelby. However, this marks our initial look at one of the newcomers, whose specific role is still under wraps.
Today (November 1st), as shared on Netflix, an image shows actor Keoghan sitting in a stationary car with an open window, gazing outside.
From a cinephile’s perspective, beyond the intriguing addition of a hand tattoo and an assortment of rings adorning his fingers, not many details have surfaced yet about my character in Peaky Blinders – and yes, let’s not forget the distinctive flat cap that completes the ensemble.

Most recently, you’ve spotted Keoghan on your screens in Saltburn, Masters of the Air, and Top Boy. However, he’s also well-known for his performances in The Banshees of Inisherin and The Killing of a Sacred Deer.
From my perspective as a film enthusiast, at this moment, I’m keeping fingers crossed for more details regarding Saoirse Ronan’s character in the upcoming project. Similarly, the intrigue mounts about the roles of seasoned actors like Tim Roth (Pulp Fiction icon) and Rebecca Ferguson (beloved from Mission: Impossible), yet the filmmakers have kept us guessing.
Just announced: The latest Peaky Blinders movie will feature the comeback of Sophie Rundle’s Ada Thorne, along with Tommy Shelby’s longtime friends and associates – Charlie Strong (Ned Dennehy), Johnny Dogs (Packy Lee), and Curly (Ian Peck).
Stephen Graham is set to reprise his role as union convenor Hayden Stagg, following the disclosure of his participation in the recent events.
Ever since it was announced that a Peaky Blinders film has been under development even before the series concluded with its sixth season in 2022, it’s clear that viewers can hardly contain their eagerness for the upcoming cinematic experience.
In simpler terms, Steven Knight, the series creator, mentioned earlier this year to The Mirror that the larger budget will be evident on-screen. Essentially, he said, “The main difference between films and TV shows is the budget. When making a TV show, you frequently need to encourage people to visualize it. However, with a film, you can truly execute it. You can destroy things explosively.
Could Tommy match the pace set by James Bond? Perhaps, as there are similarities. We’ve long viewed ‘Peaky’ as highly cinematic, and now we’re discovering a screen size that suits our ambitions.
You can watch the series “Peaky Blinders” on BBC iPlayer. Later, it will be streaming on Netflix. If you’re interested in subscribing to Netflix, the monthly fee starts at £4.99. Additionally, Netflix is accessible through both Sky Glass and Virgin Media Stream.
