As a lifelong fan of Dragon Ball, I can’t help but feel a rush of excitement as we gear up for a new form of Fusion that hasn’t graced our screens before! The introduction of the Join Bug in Dragon Ball Daima has already shaken up the series in ways we never thought possible.

In “Dragon Ball,” we’re anticipating the introduction of a never-before-seen type of Fusion, which means Goku and Vegeta are bound to join forces in an entirely novel manner soon. As for “Dragon Ball Super,” it’s only been about a month since its release at the time of this writing, but it has already caused quite a stir in the Dragon Ball universe as a whole. This new anime series, created by late genius Akira Toriyama, presents a fresh storyline and characters. It’s gradually unveiling previously undiscovered aspects of the canon.

For the first time in the Dragon Ball series, Dragon Ball Daimao delves into the Demon Realm. This journey has significantly impacted the history of the Namekians and the Supreme Kai’s race, and in the latest episode, we learned that the Demon Realm possesses its unique form of Fusion. Intriguingly, a new Fusion Bug has emerged, which seems to fuse in a way distinct from the Fusion Dance or Potara Earrings. It appears only a matter of time before this fusion is employed, resulting in Goku Mini and Vegeta Mini merging into a potentially powerful new (likely Mini) fighter.

What Is Dragon Ball’s Join Bug?

In Episode 4 of Dragon Ball Daima, Goku, Supreme Kai, and Glorio enter a shop. As they’re about to depart, Goku stumbles upon an intriguing find: the Medi Bugs. These unique insects offer various healing abilities. For instance, the Heal Bug is similar to a Senzu Bean, restoring energy levels; the Achichi Bugs aid in burn recovery, Zutsu Bugs alleviate headaches, and there are even Beaut Bugs that enhance skin quality. However, what truly sets these bugs apart is the unveiling of the Join Bug. This special bug enables two individuals to merge their strengths, growing stronger together.

In the latest episode, there’s a new phenomenon called the “Join Bug” which is split into two parts. Each part is consumed by separate individuals, leading to a fusion state that lasts for an undetermined period, simply referred to as “for a while.” This unique artifact is specific to the Demon Realm and appears to be more prevalent than the previous fusion methods we’ve witnessed in the series. Unlike Namekians who completely assimilate each other, or the Fusion Dance which requires a special ceremony, or divine earrings, this fusion technique doesn’t involve such processes.

What Will Join Bug Fusion Look Like for Goku and Vegeta?

Goku was immediately excited to find out about this new version of Fusion, and it’s no surprise as to why as it will eventually lead to Goku and Vegeta combining once more. It’s going to look different than Vegito and Gogeta, so it’s really intriguing to see what a new fusion could actually turn into. The Join Bug is going to be combining the Mini versions of Goku and Vegeta later on in the series, so this new fusion is going to be a mini-warrior compared to its much larger counterparts.

In the Demon Realm, Dragon Ball Daima has significantly weakened Goku’s power due to the dense atmosphere. This weakness appears to persist as episodes unfold, suggesting that Goku (or later Vegeta) won’t be able to access nearly the same level of power they had during the Majin Buu arc. A new Join Bug fusion could be instrumental in filling this power gap when they encounter stronger adversaries. However, it’s also plausible that Goku might merge with Supreme Kai or Glorio. The main Join Bugs on Goku currently aren’t clear, but if used, the most effective strategy might be to combine Goku and Vegeta again.
