PS5 Pro Includes an Extra 2 GB of DDR5 RAM

As a seasoned gamer with decades of gaming under my belt, I must say, the PlayStation 5 Pro has me intrigued. My old eyes have seen the evolution of consoles from their humble beginnings to the powerhouses they are today, and this new addition to Sony’s lineup is no exception.

The Sony PlayStation 5 Pro is set to launch soon, but some users have already received their consoles early, particularly in Brazil. A recent Reddit post appears to unveil the official user manual and features details such as a GPU performance of 16.7 TFLOPS and a power supply of 350 watts. What’s interesting is the addition of 2 GB of extra DDR5 RAM to the system.

The console has been verified to include 16 GB of GDDR6 memory, implying that this extra memory can be utilized for the operating system and other tasks. This is a noticeable improvement over the standard PS5, which provides an additional 512 MB of DDR4 RAM as a cache for its SSD controller.

On November 7th, the PlayStation 5 Pro will hit the shelves at a price of $699.99, so get ready for in-depth previews and teardowns in the near future. To date, a number of games such as Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, and Dragon’s Dogma 2 have been updated to leverage its capabilities.
