As a veteran Pokémon Go gamer with over five years of catching ’em all under my belt, I must say that Niantic has once again managed to pique my excitement with their early reveal of the Community Day schedule for next season. The two-day event in December, featuring all the Community Day Pokémon from 2024, is a welcome tradition and a testament to the game’s enduring popularity.
In advance of its start on December 3rd, the upcoming season of Pokemon Go has already unveiled its Community Day schedule earlier than usual. As per tradition, the exact Pokemon to be featured remains a mystery for now. However, it’s likely that this year’s event in December will showcase all Community Day Pokemon from 2024 over two days. The game has followed this pattern in the past, and this year’s schedule includes two designated dates for the event. Additionally, there will be a single Community Day Classic next season, scheduled for late January. You can find the complete list of dates below:
- Saturday and Sunday, December 21st–22nd, 2024
- Sunday, January 5th, 2025
- Saturday, January 25th, 2025 (Community Day Classic)
- Sunday, February 9th, 2025
Besides revealing the dates for the upcoming Pokemon Go Community Days, Niantic has also shared details about various other planned events. Similar to the Community Day calendar, specifics are still scarce, but fans can catch a glimpse of when we’ll experience events such as Shadow Raids and Hatch Days. Here’s a sneak peek at the schedule:

Among the early announcements about the latest season of ‘Pokemon Go’, we can expect to receive further hints as the weeks go by. As of now, the theme for this new season remains unknown. So far, the current season has predominantly featured content tied to ‘Pokemon Sword and Shield’, particularly the Galar region. The season commenced with the introduction of Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble, followed by the inclusion of Max Battles. There are still numerous Pokemon from ‘Sword and Shield’ that could be spotlighted, many of which are yet to appear in the game.

Based on the schedule, it’s clear that Max Battles featuring Max will persist in the game, leading to an increase in Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokemon encounters. The introduction of Gigantamax forms has sparked debates among players due to the challenges posed by restrictions, making it tough for solo players to defeat them without coordinating with large groups. Niantic recently made some adjustments ahead of the debut of Gigantamax Gengar last week, but whether these changes are sufficient is yet to be determined. The community’s response could lead to further modifications in the upcoming season.
