As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of Pokémon trading card game (TCG) experience under my belt, I must admit that the upcoming Prismatic Evolutions set has me both excited and slightly apprehensive. On one hand, the focus on Eevee and its evolutions is a delightful trip down memory lane, bringing back fond memories of my Red and Blue days. The Terastallized forms are an intriguing addition to these iconic characters, making the cards even more alluring.
In the Pokemon Trading Card Game, the upcoming collection is named “Prismatic Evolutions“, emphasizing Eevee and its diverse evolutionary versions. Upon its launch next year, enthusiasts can acquire these cards in various ways, among them a distinct Surprise Box. This box is now up for pre-order on the Pokemon Center website at $22.99. The cost includes 4 Prismatic Evolutions card packs, a container to store them, and dividers. However, the main attraction lies in that each box will contain one of nine random promo cards that will be inserted into it.
The disputed cards depict Eevee and all its known evolutions, collectively referred to as “Eeveelutions” by fans. Players will receive either an Eevee Promo card, Vaporeon Promo, Jolteon Promo, Flareon Promo, Espeon Promo, Umbreon Promo, Leafeon Promo, Glaceon Promo, or Sylveon Promo from the new set titled “Prismatic Evolutions”, which is inspired by Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. In this set, each card displays a Pokemon in a Terastallized form. To alleviate concerns about missing out on specific cards, it’s important to note that these promo cards are identical to those found in the set, save for a minor detail – they bear a small Prismatic Evolutions logo stamp.
While these promotional cards serve as an added bonus and offer a chance to grab one of the most sought-after cards in the Prismatic Evolutions set, some enthusiasts might express disappointment as they yearn for something more exclusive. In essence, these promotional cards can be considered a pleasant extra that many Pokemon fans could reasonably choose to forego. And this is likely for the best, considering that collecting every single one of these promo cards would undoubtedly create quite a hassle. Opting instead for cards without the logo ensures a more manageable and sensible collection strategy.

As a dedicated gamer, I’m super excited about the upcoming release of the Scarlet & Violet – Prismatic Evolutions Surprise Box, which is set to drop on February 7th. However, Pokemon enthusiasts can get a taste of the Prismatic Evolutions magic a bit earlier! On January 17th, various retailers will be stocking packs of these stunning cards, along with cool extras like binders, posters, and tech stickers. And if that’s not enough, on February 7th when the Surprise Box launches, we’ll also see the release of Mini Tins filled with two card packs, a promo card, and a coin!
