As a seasoned gamer with memories of playing PS1 games etched into my very soul, I am beyond thrilled about this latest leak! The prospect of revisiting the chilling horror of Alone in the Dark 2 on my PS5 is nothing short of exhilarating. I remember staying up all night, heart pounding as I navigated through those eerie mansions back in ’96. To think that I’ll get to do it all over again, with modern graphics and controls, is a dream come true!
It appears a recent leak suggests the imminent arrival of a new PS1 game for both PS5 and PS4. Back in the day, playing PS1 games was tricky due to many titles being stuck on older PlayStation systems, but Sony has been working hard to rectify this situation. They’ve managed to bring back numerous PS1 games like Twisted Metal, Ape Escape, Syphon Filter, and The Legend of Dragoon. The latest addition to this trend is rumored to be a horror-themed PS1 game that initially debuted on the console nearly 30 years ago.
According to PS Deals, a website that monitors updates on the PlayStation Store, Alone in the Dark 2 has been listed for both PS5 and PS4. Originally released in 1996, Alone in the Dark 2 was the first game in the classic horror series to appear on PlayStation consoles. It appears that Sony is now planning to reintroduce Alone in the Dark 2 alongside Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare, which was previously added to both PS5 and PS4 in 2024.

Currently, we don’t have an exact release date for the arrival of Alone in the Dark 2 on PS5 and PS4. Although PS Deals shows a release date as November 7th, this information is likely incorrect due to Sony’s pattern of releasing new PS1 games on the third Tuesday of each month following a refresh of the PS Plus Game Catalog. If Alone in the Dark 2 is indeed coming out this month, it would probably be on November 19th. Regardless, since this leak appears to be genuine, we can expect that it will eventually be released.
As a gamer, I’m super excited about the upcoming arrival of “Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain” on both PS5 and PS4! This classic game was first introduced way back in 1996, and now it’s making a comeback after being announced during Sony’s PlayStation State of Play in September. Although they didn’t reveal an exact release date yet, considering that “Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered” is slated for early December, I’m hoping to see “Blood Omen” drop sometime in November to create a smooth transition for the remastered bundle’s launch. Can’t wait to dive back into this epic adventure!
