Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket Reportedly Earned $12.1 Million in Revenue in First 4 Days

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must admit that I was taken aback by the meteoric success of Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket. With its impressive 10 million downloads within just 48 hours and a staggering $12.1 million in revenue in the first four days, it has left even the juggernaut that is Pokemon GO in the dust.

Over the past ten years or so, the Pokemon franchise has seen significant success on mobile devices, with Pokemon GO playing a major role in this achievement. However, The Pokemon Company and Nintendo have also launched numerous other Pokemon games and apps for mobile since then, each finding varying levels of success. Now, it appears that the most recent mobile Pokemon offering is also off to a strong start.

In simple terms, the Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket app achieved an impressive milestone by being downloaded more than 10 million times within its first two days of release last week. Now, according to reports from Mobilegamer.biz and Appmagic, this app has generated approximately $12.1 million in revenue during its initial four days. To put it into perspective, this equates to an average daily income of about $3 million, which is three times greater than the daily revenue of Pokemon GO, which stands at $1 million per day.

From my gaming perspective, it’s no secret that Japan has a massive slice of the pie, accounting for about 45% of this game’s revenue, while the US trails behind with approximately 25%. Hong Kong and Taiwan aren’t too far off, each contributing around 4%. As for the platforms, iOS is king, raking in an impressive $10.5 million out of a total earnings of $12.1 million so far.

It’s yet to be determined if the app can sustain its initial excitement, but regardless of whether it does or not, it’s clear that both Nintendo and The Pokemon Company are delighted by its promising beginning.
