Dandadan Preview Has Anime Fans Thinking Harry Potter Crossover

As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for quirky, action-packed anime series, I’ve found myself utterly captivated by the thrilling escapades of Momo and Okarun in Dandadan. The latest episode previews hint at some intriguing twists that remind me of my Hogwarts-loving days, with a golden orb taking center stage – a clear nod to the elusive Golden Snitch from the Harry Potter universe.

In simple terms, “Dandadan” has become one of the most popular shows this fall, attracting numerous new viewers to the thrilling escapades of Okarun and Momo. The early episodes of Science SARU’s adaptation followed Momo and Okarun as they confronted Turbo Granny, but since then, their lives have been dramatically altered by her eerie presence. Now, Momo and Okarun are grappling with the aftermath of Turbo Granny’s transformation and a sneak peek at episode six has sparked curiosity. Remarkably, “Dandadan” could be borrowing elements from Hogwarts for its upcoming storyline.

Previously, Momo and Okarun had devised a plan to vanquish the Turbo Granny, apparently lifting the curse on the UFO enthusiast who was mysteriously lacking important possessions. Despite being annihilated in an epic anime pursuit, the ghost has stubbornly clung to Okarun and refuses to let go. Fortunately, both Momo and her grandmother were able to imprison the spirit and cast it into a nearby object. Incredulously, this item turned out to be a cat doll, which means that the Turbo Granny is less menacing than before, but Okarun’s problems are far from over. It appears that his missing limbs aren’t being held by the Turbo Granny, and a fresh adventure is on the horizon for Okarun as he undergoes a new transformation to combat the supernatural and extraterrestrial forces.

Dandadan’s Golden Snitch

In this upcoming episode of “Dandadan”, our characters Momo, Okarun, and Turbo Hag embark on a quest to find a lost golden ball. They scour the school from top to bottom, but it’s none other than the enchanting Aira Shiratori who has the elusive item. With the golden ball in her possession, Aira seems to have gained the ability to perceive things unseen. This newfound power brings a mysterious woman dressed in red, “Acrobatic Sarasara”, into Isla’s sight. Faced with Aira’s predicament, our heroes Momo and Okarun bravely step up to help her.

In the upcoming episode, we’ll delve into an object reminiscent of Harry Potter’s “Golden Snitch,” and given this resemblance, it’s only natural to draw parallels with Hogwarts. To date, there hasn’t been a Harry Potter anime, but Warner Bros has hinted at exploring the anime industry more extensively. Apart from their current DC franchises, Harry Potter stands out as one of WB’s major properties that could thrive in the anime format.

Dandadan: The Halfway Mark

It’s said that the initial season of “Dandadan” is expected to consist of about twelve episodes, which means episode six marks the halfway point. For fans eagerly awaiting a second season, there are indications that the show may continue due to its success since it debuted this fall. Generally, anime series tend to inform viewers if a series has been renewed around the time of the final episode’s release, though sometimes it takes a while afterwards, as was the case with “Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End.

Currently, artist Yukinobu Tatsu is diligently working on his shonen manga, having already completed 107 chapters. To ensure that the anime adapts all this content, it’s expected that at least one or two future seasons will be produced. Here’s hoping that characters Momo and Okarun enjoy success in both the manga and animated versions of their story.
