As a devoted anime enthusiast who’s journeyed through countless worlds filled with Saiyans and pirates, I must say that Beastars has truly stood out as a unique gem among the crowd. This captivating series takes us to a darker Zootopia where predators and prey coexist, and it’s been an exhilarating ride following Legosi and Haru’s story.
Beastars, unlike many other anime adaptations out there, doesn’t revolve around Saiyans battling for the universe or pirates chasing after hidden treasures. Instead, it comes from ORANGE and presents a world where predators and prey coexist, offering an intriguing twist on the classic Zootopia theme. This captivating series has spanned three seasons so far and is planning to wrap up the tale of Legosi and Haru by year-end. Excitingly, Netflix is set to delight fans as they’ve announced that the first part of the anime’s final season will be streaming soon, marking the conclusion to Peru Itagaki’s remarkable storyline.
Earlier, I mentioned “Beastars,” a story revolving around two contrasting high school students: Legosi, a quiet, theater-loving boy, and Haru, an energetic, risk-taking girl. While oil and water might represent them well, it’s also important to note that Legosi is a wolf and Haru is a rabbit. As they navigate their unique friendship amidst the series’ central murder mystery, there are still several unresolved plot points to be addressed before the final chapter unfolds.
Beastars: One Last Time
The anime series “Beastars” is slated for its final season’s debut on Netflix on December 5th. However, due to a split into two parts, fans will have to wait until an unspecified time in 2025 to witness the concluding episodes, which will align with the manga’s events and provide Legosi and Haru with their much-awaited conclusion.
Although the primary Beastars series may be nearing its finish, there’s potential for the anime to carry on narrating tales within this universe once it wraps up. A spin-off manga titled Beast Complex, penned by Peru Itagaki, has been developed, expanding the world without characters like Haru and Legosi taking center stage. Fortunately, this side story offers a glimpse of our favorite odd couple for a short while, hinting at their future after the series concludes.
Anime Runs In The Family
Discussing Beastars always brings up an amusing parallel with another popular Netflix anime, Baki The Grappler, which shares connections despite being created by different family members. Keisuke Itagaki, the creator of Baki, is actually the father of the person who made Beastars. Despite their distinct storylines, it’s evident that the love for manga runs strong in the Itagaki family. As for Baki, Netflix has announced a return to the “Father-Son War” storyline. Although no release date has been set, the new series will see Baki facing off against a legendary swordsman who has been resurrected.
Netflix’s influence in the anime realm has continued to intensify with time, and this year has been no exception. The streaming platform has been home to series like “Terminator Zero”, “Dandadan”, “Dragon Ball Daima”, “Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft” among others. Looking ahead to 2025, Netflix is set to host shows such as “Sakamoto Days” and “Devil May Cry”, and the much-anticipated remake of “One Piece” by Wit Studio.
