Paddington 3: Release date, cast and latest news for Paddington in Peru

As a seasoned cinephile who has spent countless hours in the dimly-lit theaters of yesteryears and today, I must admit that the upcoming cinematic offerings this month are a veritable feast for the eyes – with the dual spectacles of Wicked and Gladiator 2 causing quite a stir among moviegoers. However, none have piqued my interest as much as the imminent Paddington in Peru.

As a film enthusiast, I’m thrilled about the upcoming movie lineup this month! The highly anticipated flicks, especially Wicked and Gladiator 2, have been creating quite a stir among moviegoers. However, none of the new releases have me as eagerly anticipating a trip to the cinema as the impending adventure, Paddington in Peru.

Seven years after Paddington 2’s family-favorite release, this upcoming movie finds our cherished bear embarking on another adventure. This time, he travels to his homeland in search of his missing Aunt Lucy, all while encountering some fresh faces portrayed by Olivia Colman and Antonio Banderas.

In the return of the production, Ben Whishaw lends his voice once more to the main character. Additionally, Hugh Bonneville and Julie Walters are set to reprise their roles, while Emily Mortimer takes over from Sally Hawkins in portraying Mrs Brown.

Additionally, in the movie, there’s an unexpected cameo of the late Queen Elizabeth II. She appears in a photograph, marking the real-life encounter between her and Paddington Bear during her Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

In a shift from Paul King, Dougal Wilson now steers the directorial ship, and critics seem to agree that while his work may not reach the peaks of the prior movies, it still offers another delightful, enchanting journey that the entire family can enjoy.

To put it simply, our review awarded the film four stars, praising it as “a continuous stream of excitement filled with numerous unexpected twists” and stating that “Watching Paddington in Peru provides an uplifting experience that leaves you feeling incredibly joyful.

It appears highly probable that Paddington will solidify his position as a true national treasure even more, a fact made clearer with the disclosure that he now possesses an authentic UK passport, issued by the Home Office.

Paddington in Peru release date

We’re almost there: Paddington in Peru will arrive in UK cinemas on Friday 8th November 2024.

It’s been nearly seven years since the last movie came out, and it seems like it’ll definitely be worth the patience we’ve had to exercise.

Paddington in Peru plot

Instead of staying in London, the third movie follows Paddington as he journeys back to his original home in Peru. There, he accompanies the Brown family on an adventure to find his long-lost Aunt Lucy, who’s been missing at the Retirement Home for Bears.

“The story takes an exciting turn as they find themselves embarking on an unforeseen expedition, first through the dense Amazon jungle and then scaling the towering peaks of Peru, all because of an intriguing enigma.

During his travels, he encounters the Reverend Mother played by Olivia Colman and Antonio Banderas’s character, Hunter Cabot, on what could be his most daring expedition to date.

Paddington in Peru cast

Once more, Ben Whishaw delivers his spot-on portrayal of Paddington’s voice, while Hugh Bonneville makes a comeback as Mr Brown, Julie Walters returns as Mrs Bird, and Jim Broadbent briefly reappears in the role of the antique shop owner, Mr Gruber.

In my review, I must clarify that Emily Mortimer takes over from Sally Hawkins in the role of Mrs. Brown this time around. Fortunately, Madeleine Harris and Samuel Joslin reprise their roles as the adorable Brown siblings, Judy and Jonathan.

Regarding fresh characters, Olivia Colman portrays The Reverend Mother and Antonio Banderas takes on the role of Hunter Cabot, who seems to fit the mold of a potential antagonist in this new storyline.
