Dragon Ball Daima Preview Teases a Super Saiyan War

As a seasoned Dragon Ball enthusiast with over two decades of following this iconic series, I must say that the latest development in Dragon Ball Daima has me more than excited! The introduction of the Demon Realm and the impending Super Saiyan war are reminiscent of the thrilling battles we’ve witnessed in the past.

In the series Dragon Ball Daima, Goku, Kaioshin, and Glorio are venturing into a new realm called the Demon Realm to correct the chaos caused by the latest demon king, Gomah. Since two of the main characters have shrunk to first-grade size, they’re eagerly anticipating the arrival of Vegeta, Piccolo, and Bulma. A sneak peek at episode 5 suggests that Vegeta might arrive in the Demon Realm earlier than expected, setting the stage for a Super Saiyan battle that could surpass anything we’ve witnessed so far.

Previously, Goku was grappling with not only finding the right way to utilize his new shape but also adapting to the unfamiliar air quality of the Demon Realm, which is distinct from what we’ve encountered before. Similar to the intense gravity training the Z-Fighters underwent, the Demon Realm’s atmosphere poses a fresh challenge. Given that Goku is currently in a child’s body and the air density is significantly greater than usual, it makes confronting enemies who would typically be effortless in his standard form all the more difficult for him. In the upcoming sneak peek, Vegeta and Goku are seen preparing for battle in their Super Saiyan states.

Super Saiyan War Begins

At first glance, it appeared that we fans would have to wait a while before our favorite trio – Vegeta, Bulma, and Piccolo – found themselves in the Demon Realm. However, things took an unexpected turn as they seem to have arrived there quicker than most of us anticipated. And in typical Vegeta fashion, he’s already eager for another showdown with Goku, keeping alive their long-standing rivalry that has been a cornerstone of this shonen series.

Based on the previews provided by Toei Animation, it appears that Dragon Ball Daima quickly brings Saiyans into conflict with the Tamagami. To remind you, the Tamagami are special, potent entities guarding the Dragon Balls of the Demon Realm, which were manufactured by the Namekian Neva. Although they may not have held their own against the Z-Fighters in their adult stages, it seems that the warriors from the Demon Realm are currently at their strongest.

Dragon Ball Daima: The Demon Realm Explored

Previously governed by the villainous Dabura, second-in-command to Babidi and a prominent antagonist in the Buu Saga, was the Demon Realm’s ruler. After Dabura’s demise at the hands of Majin Buu, a small character named Gomah ascended to the throne. Accompanying Gomah is Degesu, the Kaioshin of the Demon Realm, who introduced a new Namekian who crafted his own set of Dragon Balls.

The Demon Realm might not have played a heavy role in the original Dragon Ball or Dragon Ball Z but it did have a part to play in the shonen franchise’s spin-off series, Super Dragon Ball Heroes. In the side story, that was used as a way to push the arcade game of the same name, we saw the Time Patrol fighting against the Demon Realm and a collection of new villains who would travel the multiverse. While Heroes was never considered canon in the main timeline, we might see Daima bringing some outside-of-canon characters making a return here.
