Robert Pattinson’s New Movie Just Got Delayed (But It’s Actually a Good Thing)

As an ardent cinephile who has been following the illustrious career of Robert Pattinson, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming release of “Mickey 17.” This film is not just another addition to Pattinson’s impressive repertoire but a testament to his versatility as an actor.

Fans of Bong Joon-ho’s upcoming sci-fi movie, “Mickey 17,” starring Robert Pattinson, will need to be a bit more patient as the release date has been changed from January 21, 2025, to April 18, 2025. The reason for the delay is that the film will now have the opportunity to screen in IMAX and potentially attract audiences during the Easter holiday season. This change was made due to Antoine Fuqua’s Michael Jackson biopic, “Michael,” which was originally slated for April 18th, being moved to October 3rd by Lionsgate earlier this week, freeing up premium large format screens for “Mickey 17.

On learning that April 18 was open, we swiftly acted to reserve it for ‘Mickey 17’, as stated by a Warner Bros. representative. We’re delighted about this new release date, looking forward to sharing the movie with audiences in IMAX.

For the sci-fi adventure “Mickey 17,” originally scheduled for a March 29, 2024 release, has experienced another alteration, moving it to the 2025 slot. This change is said to be a result of the studio adjusting its schedule in light of the 2024 Hollywood strikes. In its place on January 31st, Warner Bros. will now feature the psychological thriller “Companion,” which was initially set for a January 10th release date.

Easter holidays have traditionally been profitable periods for film studios. For instance, the record-breaking Easter opening of 2016’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” remains unbeaten. Other successful films debuted during this holiday weekend include “The Super Mario Bros. Movie”, “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire”, and “Furious 7”. Warner Bros., aware of the box office potential of holidays, had already reserved the April 18, 2025 release date for an unnamed blockbuster film – presumably because holiday weekends are usually financially advantageous. Given this, it seems wise for them to shift the highly anticipated “Mickey 17” into that slot.

The highly anticipated movie titled “Mickey 17,” set to release in 2025, boasts an impressive lineup of talent. Starring Robert Pattinson from “The Batman” and directed by Bong Joon-ho, who gained nearly universal acclaim with the non-English film “Parasite” (which won the Academy Award for Best Picture at the 92nd Oscars), this movie promises to be a standout.

In a past interview, Ashton stated that Director Bong follows his unique approach when writing the script. He sought Ashton’s opinions on certain aspects early in the process, such as details about Creeper reproduction that hadn’t occurred to Ashton while writing the book. This was an interesting question, and they discussed it thoroughly. Many people have wondered if Ashton is anxious because Director Bong has a history of deviating from source material. However, Ashton expressed no concern. In his opinion, Director Bong is a genius. He’s admired all of his films, and none of them have ever disappointed him. He doesn’t believe that Director Bong will disappoint with Mickey 7. Instead, he expects an outstanding performance.

Mickey 17 is now scheduled to open in theaters on April 18, 2025.
