Marvel Reveals Young Avengers Plans for 2025 (With New Team Members Confirmed)

As a lifelong Marvel fan who’s been following these superheroes since I was just a kid running around in my Spider-Man pajamas, this news about the Young Avengers reuniting next year has me jumping for joy! I remember when the original team debuted back in 2005, and it felt like a fresh, exhilarating new chapter in Marvel’s universe.

The head honcho at Marvel has affirmed that the Young Avengers will regroup in 2025. There’s been a lot of buzz among Marvel enthusiasts about the Young Avengers lately, thanks to the appearance of Wiccan in Agatha All Along. Since Avengers: Endgame, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has gradually given more focus to this group of superheroes through TV shows and films. There’s been talk that a Young Avengers project is imminent, and now it seems like a comic book series or movie in the MCU is only a question of when rather than if. To ensure there’s a comic to support this potential series or film, Marvel has already started working on making that a reality.

At the Tokyo Osaka Comic Con, C.B. Cebulski, Marvel Comics’ Editor-in-Chief, announced that the Young Avengers will make their comeback in the Marvel Universe next year, 2025. During his speech, he shared some exciting news, stating, “The Young Avengers will be reuniting in our comic books in 2025.” He also mentioned that they’re choosing characters for a new Young Avengers team based on their roles within the storyline. Among those we can expect to see are Kate-Hawkeye, Patriot, Hulkling, and Wiccan. The question remains, who else will join this new team in 2025?

The Young Avengers were brought into existence by writer Allan Heinberg and artist Jim Cheung after the occurrence of “Avengers: Disassembled”. Since the Avengers had disbanded, the Young Avengers emerged as their successors, making their debut with issue #1 in April 2005. The initial team included Iron Lad (a young version of Kang the Conqueror), Patriot, Hawkeye (Kate Bishop), Stature (Cassie Lang), Asgardian (Wiccan), and Hulkling, with Vision acting as their mentor.

2023 saw a new lineup of the Young Avengers emerge under writer Kieron Gillen and artist Jamie McKelvie. The roster featured several original members such as Wiccan, Hulkling, and Hawkeye, along with newcomers like Kid Loki, America Chavez, Speed, Prodigy, and Marvel Boy. This team has earned the title of favorite among many Young Avengers enthusiasts.
